Discover the potential of #TranscranialMagneticStimulation (TMS) for bipolar disorder in our latest blog post. Our own January Robinson, PMHNP-BC, discusses that while #TMS is commonly used for major depressive disorder, its off-label use for #bipolardisorder shows promising results, offering new hope for those struggling with traditional treatments. Dive into January's research and learn about the application of this innovative therapy for #BD below. #MentalHealth #BipolarTreatment #HopemarkHealth #Bipolar #OffLabelUse Meghna Agarwal Gaeta Abid Nazeer Anmol Tolani MD Stephanie Quattrocki LCPC Cathy Cimo Laura Nash, M.Ed.

Happy to share this recent publication where we present findings that support the use of #groupbased #transdiagnostic #therapy for individuals living with #comorbid #mentalhealth conditions. This is important as individuals with mental health challenges seldom fit perfectly into one diagnosis and transdiagnostic approaches help those who is struggling with multiple diagnoses. We report on #personalrecovery which is an important patient outcome that is not as widely captured in medical research. You might remember Jenn from an article we shared last year about Functional Neurological Disorder (which you can read here https://lnkd.in/ePRSfxq2). Today for FND Awareness Day Jenn's shares 5 things you should know about Functional Neurological Disorder: 1. Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a condition that involves abnormal functioning of the nervous system, leading to physical or neurological symptoms that cannot be attributed to a specific underlying organic cause. 2. FND symptoms can vary widely and may include motor symptoms (such as weakness, tremors, or abnormal movements), sensory symptoms (such as numbness, tingling, or loss of sensation), and cognitive symptoms (such as memory problems or difficulty concentrating). 3. FND is considered a functional disorder because it is believed to arise from a problem with how the brain functions, rather than from structural or organic abnormalities. 4. The exact cause of FND is not fully understood, but it is thought to involve a combination of psychological, social, and biological factors. Trauma, stress, and previous medical conditions or injuries may contribute to the development of FND. 5. Treatment for FND often involves a multidisciplinary approach, including physical therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and sometimes medication. The goal is to manage symptoms, improve functioning, and enhance the quality of life for individuals with FND. #FNDAwarenessDay #FunctionalNeurologicalDisorder #DisabilityCommunity #Accessibility #LivingMadeEasy

APOPTOSIS In medicine the term "apoptosis" refers to "cell suicide", a programmed cell death by which growth of the body progresses without any stress or damage to the neighboring area. If the human body has such an amazing system in place to maintain proper functions. What about you? Don't you think as an individual who is on the pursuit of your dream, you should as well set up a" self suicide system ( SSS)", that is designed solely to kill attitudes, addictions, associations and habits that hamper your dream actualization. Always remember, even an addiction can seize to be an addiction when intentionality about "addiction death" is in place. It starts with killing triggers. Find out every trigger today and programme yourself to die to them. Ps: Don't forget, registration for the IMUN online conference is ongoing. If you must become your dream you have to be intentional about intellectual growth. To Register Click in the link below, #https://lnkd.in/gbBgy6W3 #InternationalMUN

Olanzapine for tardive dyskinesia; causes and uses Involuntary neurological movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia (TD) is brought on by the use of medications that block dopamine receptors and are recommended to treat gastrointestinal or mental disorders. The brain region known as the striatum may experience biochemical changes as a result of long-term usage of certain medications. It is unknown why some users of these medications develop tardive dyskinesia while others do not. A more severe variation of tardive dyskinesia known as tardive dystonia is characterized by a predominance of slower twisting movements of the neck and trunk muscles. read more : https://lnkd.in/dbhEYvHw
