Grange Hill Productions 1979: Say No To Technology...Mr Bronson We are at the cusp of transformative change, and in the middle of this disruption sits Generation X. We were the last generation born analogue, the last to experience the simplicity of "Grange Hill" and "Byker Grove". Digital inclusion wasn’t a concept we grew up with—it was an evolution we witnessed. We are the last generation born before AOL, dial-up, and the birth of the internet. We remember physical media—records, CDs, tapes, and the iconic Walkman. Our biggest technological achievement? The portable CD player with anti-skip. We were the BMX bandits, the kids with Wham bars and Beanos. An iPhone was a distant dream, and adjusting the tracking on a VHS player was a skill. Our biggest worry? Ensuring no one recorded over mum and dad’s wedding tape with the latest episode of "Baywatch". Today, we’ve fallen headfirst into digital disruption, adapting and integrating it into our lives and work. Now comes our greatest challenge: passing the torch to the new generation—the digital natives. For them, technology is second nature. As we face this transition, we need to reflect. Will we become the Mr. Bronson nobody wanted to be, or can we be more like Rolo from "Grange Hill", part of the cool kids? Let’s be a bit rebellious, embrace change, and build a foundation so future generations won’t have to sit through endless reruns of 'Supergran'. It's our turn to embrace and drive the change, ensuring a seamless transition for those who follow.
