Every day on LinkedIn you read about collaborative writing and community and Disney and how the next billion-dollar IP is going to be imagined, written, created and distributed by unknown creators in underground bunkers. You read about the next Marvel and how content creators can wield the power of blockchain and AI to sweep away the gatekeepers and build community driven towers of storytelling Babel. #Web3 So much promise. But where does that promise lead? Let's find out. I'm using Adim to write a screenplay from scratch. If you're not familiar with Adim, it's a web3 collaborative platform for storytellers co-founded by freshly minted Emmy award winner and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia creator Rob McElhenney. It's got some pedigree. And a community of thirsty writers (most are probably going hungry too). I'll be asking the community for #storytelling advice and insight and collaboration. We'll bang our heads together and work out rhythm and pacing and dialogue. We'll crowdsource the actions sequences, flesh out character flaws and refine arcs until we wake Joseph Campbell from his eternal slumber. And by the end of it, there'll be a finished #sceenplay. Called The Priest. It'll be a story of faith, family and redemption. Or at least that's the idea. Click the link to follow the project.
