From Online Mutuals to IRL Friends: The Power of Cons and Community 👯 Last weekend I attended Stockholm Comic Con and finally met my mutuals from 2011 in person! After 13 years of online connection, we finally had the chance to meet as they were invited to Sweden. Moments like this are exactly why I love conventions—among many other reasons. As a cosplay enthusiast, attending conventions is a huge endorphin boost. Whether I’m dressing up, admiring others’ craftsmanship, reconnecting with old friends, or making new ones, the experience is unforgettable. Plus, you can almost always count on bumping into someone from the gaming industry, making it the perfect opportunity to expand your network! Conventions are truly a mecca for community. They bring together niche markets in one space and allow people to connect IRL. For creatives in the gaming industry, conventions offer a unique way to connect with players and introduce them to the people behind the games. I’ve attended countless conventions back in Indonesia as well as in other countries, and it’s fascinating to see the similarities and differences. But one thing’s for sure: it’s a safe haven for geeky folks like me 🤓 Have you attended conventions before?

What iGaming events would you recommend to attend?  (my list in the comments) But first... Why did I bring it up? In the last 2 years,  more and more events appeared. iGaming Calendar displays every month. Some are big and lousy,  others quiet and personal. Each one is worth our time. That's correct, but... Me and You, we also CAN'T ATTEND ALL the exhibitions. With Hermione's time-turner maybe,  but that's another movie dream. So that raises a question: Which top 5 iGaming events should we attend in 2024/2025?

✨ Reflections on the National Flute Association (NFA) Conventions ✨ The NFA Convention is truly a celebration of all things flute—bringing together product exhibits, concerts, lectures, workshops, masterclasses, and competitions. It’s a commercial and educational hub that draws an international crowd, and I feel fortunate to attend it regularly as part of my work. As a Product Manager/Marketing Manager/Artist Relations Manager, this event challenges me to wear many hats: 🎯 Gathering competitor insights and user feedback. 🌟 Supporting and networking with artists, brand ambassadors, and global distribution partners. 📈 Observing marketing trends and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations. A few standout moments: 🎶 Meeting a beatboxing flutist I admired from YouTube—a surreal fan-to-idol experience! 🤝 Hosting CD signings with incredible artists at our booth and attending their inspiring concerts. 📊 Learning from industry peers and gaining insights into competitors’ products. Professionally, the convention is always rewarding and enlightening. It’s where I connect directly with users, introducing them to our products and, in turn, listening to their valuable feedback. Personally, as a classically trained flute player, attending NFA feels like coming home.
