𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐒' 𝐄𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐒, convened in Brussels on 16 April with representatives from the National Members of BE, NL, DE, EE, PT, GR, HR and CH. They considered the next research and survey endeavours of the Engineers4Europe E4E project. This strategic research will focus on the current and future requirements of the engineering profession in view of the emerging societal challenges such as green energy, artificial intelligence, etc. In particular the specific “professional skills and competences”, often referred to as “soft skills”, were debated but also the current activities of the Central Secretariat and the future course of strategic projects were dealt with. The exchange happened in a positive atmosphere supportive of meaningful change.

The media development sector needs more collaboration and knowledge sharing and it's fantastic to be part of the EU's Financial Framework Partnership to do just this with consortium led by Internews Europe, BBC Media Action and Free Press Unlimited. It's very good news that the UK has officially re-joined the Horizon Europe programme. Its the world’s largest collaborative research programme worth in excess of £80bn, opening up a number of exciting possibilities in terms of R&D collaboration between UK and European partners. In collaboration with Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government, and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, Innovate UK will be holding an in-person networking event to discuss the Horizon Europe opportunities. Featuring speakers from across government, academia and industry, the event will highlight the importance of Horizon Europe to both the public and private sectors.
