Autonomous Vehicles: What’s Next? 2024 has brought about steady advancements in autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, but the road to true autonomy remains complex. Although the potential to transform global mobility is undeniable, the pace of progress has been slower than predicted. What stands out to me is how companies in this space are adapting - refining their tech, adjusting safety standards, and navigating regulatory hurdles. It reminds me that innovation is rarely a straight path. It's the constant recalibration and learning from setbacks that keep things moving forward - this is true in every industry! The key question: Are we getting closer to a world where autonomous vehicles are part of our daily lives? Or is it still too soon to tell?

In 2021, I wrote an article (still in my profile) called "The Reality of Autonomy and The Path Forward" outlining where we thought autonomy would blossom and how it would evolve. Looking into the crystal ball is almost certainly a recipe for being incorrect about something. But having a deep knowledge of the technical challenges for autonomous vehicles (AVs) along with broad business experiences in the industry help guide us and course correct. In the latest executive overview update below, there is a link to that 2021 article and more which highlight where Perrone Robotics has been headed and how we are leading at least one path through industry as an AV technology provider.
