Yesterday we had the privilege of hosting the Pikes Peak meeting for Project Summit Networking. It was an enriching experience where we forged numerous new connections. Among the remarkable individuals we met, one particularly stood out: Saige. Despite her tender age of five, Saige has authored her own book, an impressive feat indeed! We are inspired by her creativity and determination. Here's to celebrating young talents and the power of achievement at any age. #BetterBanking #Community #ProjectSummitNetworking #YoungTalent #InspiringAchievements

Recruitment Partner @ Workhuman | Early Careers Specialist | Accessibility Advocate | Discovering diverse talent for our tech teams 👩💻 #LifeAtWorkhuman
🚀 Just wrapped up an insightful morning at the WITS Ireland (Women in Technology and Science) webinar! 🌐✨ 📸 Propped up in my cozy corner at the office, I had the pleasure of attending a webinar hosted by WITS Ireland that delved deep into personal and professional development and building confidence. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: 1. Assessing personal values: The importance of introspection to align personal values with professional goals was highlighted. Knowing what truly matters to you can be a powerful compass for decision-making. 2. 90-day sprints for goal planning: Drawing inspiration from my current practice with Workhuman's conversation product, the idea of breaking down goals into 90-day sprints was emphasized. A structured approach to achieving milestones! 3. Avoid the comparison trap: A friendly reminder not to fall into the comparison vortex of others' online posts and successes. Everyone's journey is unique, and it's essential to focus on your own progress. 4. Create and update an accomplishments list: I'm excited to start maintaining a list of my accomplishments on my phone. A simple yet effective way to acknowledge and celebrate personal and professional victories that you can reflect back on. We were also treated to some fantastic book recommendations. Can't wait to dive into these gems and expand my knowledge! A big thank you to WITS Ireland (Women in Technology and Science) for organizing such an enriching session. 🙌 Looking forward to implementing these insights into my personal and professional growth journey. Also, thank you Martina Campbell for highlighting this event in the Workhuman women and allies slack channel and bringing it to my attention. #WITSIreland #Webinar #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #LearningJourney #GoalPlanning #SelfReflection #lifeatworkhuman

If you ever doubt the effectiveness of CICs and community enterprise see the report below!
Director/founder at Craftship Enterprise CIC, Manager/founder Made in Ashford, maker & creator Aye Aye
Our 2023 report is now out! It is always a very proud moment when we get to share this report. Sometimes a year in our life doesn't feel as full until we write it all down and we see what we have been up to. I think 2023 was one of our more jam packed years to date. We had so much fun and did some really different things to our usual but always kept our values at heart. Of course none of this is possible without our amazing team, our fabulous customers, supporters and our incredible Ashford community. If you fancy having a read for yourself the hard copies are available to sit & read in the Craftship or here is the link: https://lnkd.in/eHYYNxJ3

"Definitely, my expectations were met." - Raquel Seville about her experience at Beyond the Beach 2024 In this thoughtful reflection, Jamaican entrepreneur and author Raquel Seville shares impactful lessons gleaned from her experience at EAB's Beyond the Beach conference earlier this year. As the founder and CEO of Dataffluent, focusing on financial modeling and insights for emerging markets, Raquel attended seeking to expand vital connections within her industry. From the welcoming environment to impactful presentations, her expectations of a carefully curated experience were met. Whether pitching her solution or engaging in meaningful sessions, Raquel absorbed diverse perspectives augmenting her expertise. She emphasizes how the balanced representation of founders, from two female entrepreneurs sandwiching two male counterparts, fostered inspiration. Most memorable were acts of genuine care exhibited, from feedback enhancing her pitch to offers to support next steps. Raquel expresses how communities cultivating this level of empathy between diverse thinkers accelerate sustainable progress. By maintaining open dialogue, relationships strengthened while networking flourished. Raquel discusses how events like Beyond the Beach foster high-value connections sustaining momentum far beyond initial interactions. I need your help! At YATSI we are trying to prepare a guide for how to best engage in academia-industry #collaboration that we would like to share with the #community. However, we want to avoid bias by just basing it on experiences from members within the academy and instead also hear from all of you! It would amazing if you could take 5-10min to help us make a representative guide that will hopefully accelerate a better collaboration between #industry and #academy You can find the survey here: https://lnkd.in/dTr5afXM

Communication coach and content creator for researchers and research-driven organizations | Knowledge mobilization | Research dissemination | Technical communication
"We can't do this work alone." 🌟 A nugget of wisdom from a colleague at a social enterprise conference I attended a couple weeks ago. She was talking about leading an organization focused on social impact, but her words also make sense for anyone engaged in research dissemination or knowledge mobilization. The day-to-day work of translating research knowledge and sharing it outside the research community goes against the grain of both academic culture and policymaking processes. Like any kind of creative work, it's also inherently isolating. Deep thinking and innovative expression require significant solo time. 🤔 When you add up all these factors, being a rebel for the knowledge cause can sometimes feel lonely and disheartening. We knowledge mobilizers need more opportunities to connect with, learn from, and support one another. ☺️ This summer, Clarity Connect started hosting monthly learning events, and I've personally found it energizing to gather virtually with like-minded folks from coast to coast. Where do you find the community to support your knowledge mobilization work? 💬 #ClarityConnect #KnowledgeMobilization #KT #ResearchDissemination #KnowledgeTranslation #CollaborationIsKey #KnowledgeSharing #AcademicCulture #Community #CreativeIsolation
