Getting booked to moderate a Christian wedding reception has to be one of my most exciting working experience so far. A lot of people haven't experienced Christian wedding receptions before so they're skeptical about having one. After moderating the reception, I came home so happy I began to draft different program of events for different Churches. I included ice breakers, games and other engagements that each church would relate with. It is important to me that my clients and their guests are always comfortable and actively participate in the activities scheduled for them without any form of fear. It is also important that the Event Planner, DJ and of course the MC know early the flow of event you want at your reception, that way everyone is prepared and we can all work in sync towards the result you want. One thing I do before every event is get acquainted with the vendors I'll be working directly with. I ask the client to do the introduction and I take it up from them. I chat them every week and check in so that we can have a good rapport at the event. I also run my program through with them on our first chat so that they know in detail how I plan to work with them and we edit to make sure we're both performing at our best. This also gives us an idea for when to cue in and out on each session of the event. This has been one of my most important steps to take before moderating any event. This particular job made me put in the extra work because it's not the kind of event you want to go home wishing you did more.
