🌟 In our 10th session with Kathrin Graf we delved into the topic of work-life balance and explored as well gender disparities. 💼👩💼 a topic that sounds so easy, but really is complex + so important to remember daily. It's really important to acknowledge that both men and women face high expectations in today's society. There's a multitude of roles we're expected to juggle, including excelling in our careers, caring for our families, nurturing social connections, and pursuing personal goals—all at once. These demands can often feel overwhelming, making it challenging to strike a healthy balance. ✅ „You are not weak, just because you show weakness.“ It's important to recognize that breaks and self-care are essential for everyone. Only by treating ourselves well and prioritizing our own needs, being able to say „no, it’s enough“ and understanding our own limits, can we sustain long-term success and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Let's collectively strive to foster a culture that respects the diversity of paths and choices, where everyone has the opportunity to find balance between work and life. Because life is so important! 💪🌱 #WorkLifeBalance #GenderEquality #TakeBreaks #SelfCare #Empowerment #LifeBalance

As we continue to navigate the ever-evolving workplace, it's crucial to recognize that work-life balance looks different for everyone. For women, and moms, in particular, the notion of balance should be dictated by their own needs and aspirations. Gone are the days of adhering to a standard work week or feeling pressure to juggle multiple responsibilities at the expense of personal well-being. It's time we shift our focus towards creating a supportive environment where moms feel empowered to define their own balance. How do you define work-life balance as a mom in today's workforce? #TMN #MommyNetwork #worklifebalance #womenempowerment #genderequality #shareyourthoughts #womeninbusiness

*Work-Life Balance: Essential for All* Work-life balance isn't just a concern for one gender; it's essential for everyone. Whether you're a boy or a girl, finding harmony between work and personal life is crucial for overall well-being and success. Let's break the stereotype that only girls need work-life balance to manage family responsibilities. Boys are equally responsible for balancing career aspirations with personal commitments. It's time to promote a culture where both genders feel empowered to prioritize self-care, family time, and personal growth alongside their careers. Work-life balance is a universal priority for everyone. #WorkLifeBalance #Equality #Inclusion #Empowerment

Who is advocating for work-life balance? Men or women? Is work-life balance a female issue? If you pay attention to podcasters, conversations at the workplace, and social media videos you will notice a few things: - Those who love their job don't talk about work-life balance - Those who are successful in what they do, love putting in the extra hours - Those who work towards something (have a goal) don't mind working hard - Successful men & women advocate for working hard and achieving - Unsuccessful men & women advocate for chilling and stress-free life - It is predominantly women who advocate for work-life balance And here is the thing, mothers need work-life balance because they have another full-time job at home. The work-life balance movement is women's work (look back in history) because they balance work and life: Looking after the kids/lives. The problem is that we never managed to figure that out, we just talk about it. Women must integrate life/kids and work but how can one do two full-time jobs? Something gotta give. Parenting did. Today, women outsource parenting because what choice do they have? Kids are raised by nannies, kindergartens, schools, after-curriculum activity teachers, and social media. There is no balance there. We missed the whole thing about work-life balance because we didn't look at who is advocating for it and why and that changed the whole movement. We let it be hijacked and rolled out to everyone giving those excuses who dislike their jobs, being lost in life, or are unsuccessful instead of urging them to pull it together. What is work-life balance anyway? Is it that I work really hard for 10 years so I won't have to after that? Is it that I do my hours and go home on time every day? If we cannot define it precisely because the answer is always 'it looks differently to everyone' well, then the concept doesn't exist. Mothers or shall I say, primary caregivers need to balance work and life. I fully support that. So what's the solution? What's the solution to relieving them from doing two full-time jobs? #worklifebalance #work #life #balance

Work/life balance is a term that traces back to the late 1900s... the 1970s to be exact and it's a time when women were entering the workforce in larger numbers and likely donning the Farrah fawcett Flip, a shag or a fro. Until then, “work” and “life” were often divided between genders. Men worked outside the home, while women handled responsibilities inside it. But as these roles began to shift, and women started running more than the home, the term “work/life balance” emerged to describe the need to juggle personal and professional lives without conflict... The concept is simple: keep work and personal life separate but equal. But obviously, life doesn’t always allow for such clean divisions. Work-life integration is more of a solution... yes, it's a simple word tweak, but it evokes operating in the messy middle of the juggle between work and personal responsibilities. It's about co-existing vs. separation.

Ángela de Miguel Work Life Balance in South America In Latin America, the pandemic hit very hard. With the distribution of roles being very marked, there was a huge flight of women from the labour market, setting us back more than 10 years. In the years since then, re-entry has been slow and has been marked by a strong presence in the informal market. In the labour market, women participate mainly in the service sector, with a majority presence in education, health and commerce. 😘 https://lnkd.in/eRxBitsT #worklifebalance
