This week, let's look at some preliminary "bracket" designs for that 4-mile lateral we discussed running liner in a few modules ago. These are bracket designs because, like in artillery, you can use them to get your range in respect to what may or may not work, over and under. In this case, we'll look at two basic common designs, first a tapered string and then one using the same size of DP the whole way to TD, and see where the limitations are for each. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, solving one problem that the other has but, as is often the case, having problems of their own. Lastly, we'll discuss a few options for what might be the best "fit for purpose" solution (which you can iterate and revise for YOUR well).
