The NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) 2023 Blue Ribbon Commission Report, Culture as the Foundation: Building a High-Performing Board, examines the importance of culture in today’s corporate boardrooms. This interactive panel discussion will explore the report’s key recommended actions and practical tools that boards can use when addressing major cultural fault lines. It's not as simple as "build it and they will come," but it helps drastically when your organization anticipates that employees have differing needs and preferences. I am increasingly passionate about advocating for Entrepreneur Mental Health. To reignite valuable conversations and learnings, I am reposting a fun video montage from the inspiring 2023 QED Global Summit. This event featured two days of presentations and discussions with some of the best minds in fintech. QED Investors demonstrated its commitment to prioritizing the well-being of CEOs and their teams by inviting me to lead a session on mental health education and to facilitate genuine discussions about the stressors they face.  The summit culminated in a powerful message: "We want you to feel supported by us and to create cultures where mental health conversations are welcomed." My vision is for more conferences to create space for authenticity, enabling individuals to share struggles, resources, and uplift one another.  As an Executive Coach with a background in clinical therapy, I see the urgent need to shift the paradigm so that mental health is no longer stigmatized or concealed. It should be seen as a shared responsibility, rather than an issue to be tackled alone. There is vast potential in expanding the support network available to founders, both from VC partners and from within their own community.  I will continue to advocate for this cause and guide my clients to recognize the link between performance, productivity, self-awareness, and well-being. As I collaborate with exceptional founders from around the world, I am more committed than ever to expanding the avenues of support for this community of innovative leaders. How can I advise people on NOT being boring with their marketing if I've NEVER done an exhibition for myself?! Sam Lindley was a brilliant person to do this with as she's so full of encouragement and is far more professional than me (I need to be balanced 😆) SO we offered riches and happiness (her) and free marketing advice (me). Exhibitions are great when they're so well run (massive thanks to Aaron Desmond) and so well attended (thanks to Aaron's amazing network!). The takeaways for me from this: 🎩DON'T BE BORING 🎉🎉🎉thinking outside the box is so much fun and gets noticed too 🎩Help people feel at ease and give them an opening or reason to talk to you 🎩Don't try to sell! Your aim should be making good connections and THAT'S the measure of success. 🎩Take the time to have a decent conversation I noticed there is that ever-present fear of being sold to, even at an exhibition. Remove that fear if you can, reassure that you want to know about them EVEN IF you're secretly dying to tell them how amazing you are.😆 No one starts a good relationship by feeling sold to - no one ever in the world. So give them free money 🤑and find out about THEM. Job done 🎩🎩🎩🎩
