It’s time to bust these myths! 👇   In this part of the Queery, we will be diving deeper into the stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding the LGBTQIAP+ community. Addressing these stereotypes and misconceptions is crucial for promoting inclusivity and respect for the LGBTQIAP+ community. Education and open dialogue can help dispel myths and foster a more accepting society.

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO GETS IT! 1. Gender affirmation means different things to different people. 2. Gender Affirmation might simply mean telling me your name and sharing your pronouns. 3. It might also mean: - having a pronoun pin on - hanging a flag in your waiting room - single stall bathrooms - gender neural bathrooms - an opportunity to write down my own gender in your forms - including other genders on your forms - asking me what name I prefer - asking me my pronouns - hanging pictures that depict people like me on your walls - introducing yourself with your pronouns - having inclusion policies in your practice and sticking to them - your front office using my name and proper pronouns - staff education about LGBTQ+ basics -normalizing conversations about being queer in your office - asking me about my queer joy -asking me about positive experiences - not assuming I’m Sad and unhappy - ensuring you are a safe person and treating my info with confidentiality - taking a good sexual history - asking me what names I use for my body parts, and so on… - respecting my autonomy Earlier today I got to teach part 1 of my LGBTQ Basics talk to a room filled with Black physicians!! It was surreal! I am so so grateful to be doing what I was born to do. Cheers! 🍻

Respond to the Department for Education (DfE) consultation on the draft guidance for schools about 'gender questioning children' by 12th March. Urge your MP to attend the Parliamentary debate to support the inclusion of LGBT content in the RSE curriculum on 18th March. These three things are really important for ensuring education is a safe and non-discriminatory space for young people, and every voice matters.
