🌈 Celebrating Diversity in the Workplace 🌟 In today's ever-evolving business landscape, diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords – they're essential components of success. As a commercial professional, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that a company's commitment to recognizing and giving visibility to the LGBT community can have on its culture, productivity, and bottom line. From my personal experience S&P Global understands that embracing diversity isn't just the right thing to do – it's the smart thing to do. By fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work, we unleash the full potential of our team and drive innovation like never before. When employees feel supported and included, they are more engaged, motivated, and loyal. By championing diversity in all its forms, we attract top talent from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, enriching our company culture and fueling our competitive advantage. The commitment to diversity goes beyond mere rhetoric – it's ingrained in everything we do. From the inclusive hiring practices to employee resource groups and allyship initiatives, S&P Global is dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. As we celebrate Pride Month, let's not just pay lip service to diversity and inclusion – let's take tangible action to build a more equitable and inclusive world for all. 🌈There is no place for hate crime. 🐬Neurodivergents are a hidden minority. Some are intersectional with LGBTQ+, race and gender. 🐥Neurodivergents (including autistics) are usually heavily masked to prevent being ostracized, bullied and being a scapegoat. This is exhausting. This was what LBTQ+ people must sometimes do to survive. Extreme masking (or being in a “protective” closet) to protect from workplace hate can result in suicide. 🥊Yet, having experienced hate, subsequent to declaring my autism, I do not feel safe in my workplace. 🤬🤕 Hate is not just a word, it is an assault resulting in mental health issues and physical illness in the victim. To ignore this makes the organizational tokenism of rainbow buttons and lanyards, a mockery of the victims. #hatecrime #dei #neurodivergence #AUADD #suicide #hatecrimeawarenessweek

No Credit Union Left Behind | Passionate Advocate for Financial Empowerment | Data and Research Geek | CU Lover for Life | Purpose Chaser | Changemaker
Be an ally. Be Kind. We ALL have one thing in common, we are all human beings first. Yet, so many different people continue to experience discrimination for a multitude of reasons. Financial wellness in the LBGTQ+ community face unique challenges and setbacks-- we all deserve to have access to financial products and services in an equitable environment. The 2024 LGBTQ+ Financial Wellness Report's key findings are a rude awakening that there is much work to be done for better financial inclusion. *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ+ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. Both BIPOC and younger (age 18-24) LGBTQ+ adults are even more likely to say they are financially unwell. *Three in ten (30.8%) LGBTQ+ adults say they have experienced discrimination while accessing financial services *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ+ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. *Nearly 60% (59.7%) of LGTBQ+ adults have annual household incomes below $75,000. "The data underscore the need for our economic empowerment programs, especially for younger BIPOC LGBTQ+ folks. I hope the data are a call to action for organizations serving our community. Given what we know about who is struggling the most, these organizations have an opportunity to center BIPOC young adults by being culturally responsive, trauma informed, and offering voice and choice to young people.” Maruka Rivers, Director of Economic Empowerment Programs at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation How is your credit union being an ally? If not, reach out and get involved.
It has begun! June is here which means credit unions are ready to showcase the support of the LGBTQ+ professionals, members, and communities they serve all year round during CU Pride Month! It's Pride Month. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ We're looking forward to a month of celebration, conversation, and learning organized by our employee-led Pride+ affinity group, to increase awareness of LGBTQIA+ history, identity and community. 🌈 This year our internal theme is 'Empowerment through visibility' and we’ve made the decision to change our logo to the Pride Progress flag. Here's why 👇 Whether it's legislative threats to transgender rights in the UK and the US, the increase in hate speech globally, or recent tragic events like the hate-driven homicide of 3 lesbians in Buenos Aires, it's evident that the fight for equality persists. By prominently featuring the Pride flag colors, we stand with every member of the LGBTQ+ community, advocate for their rights, and celebrate their diversity. 👉 Pride+ is just one of the incredible affinity groups we have at Kin + Carta, who work tirelessly to help promote a safe environment for everyone to be themselves. Learn more: https://okt.to/e5A0g3 Their work continues to feed into our culture that values the diversity and inclusion of all our employees.💜 #ForEveryone #PrideMonth #DiversityAndInclusion
