Director of Student Engagement, Passionate and Innovative Leader Skilled in Communications, Marketing, and Project Management
Friends often wonder why I am so passionate about work. It's more than just food. Dining brings people together in our homes and on college campuses. Through food, we have the opportunity to help students connect with each other and the larger campus community. Culture, traditions, and food are key to developing a sense of belonging. From breaking bread or afternoon tea, even coffee breaks to holiday celebrations like Hanukkah, Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, or even the New Year (whether that be January 1, February 10 - Lunar New Year, or another date), we celebrate and mark milestones by dining together. Sodexo Campus' Better Together Get Together program encapsulates how dining drives belonging. Our work to actively foster inclusive campus environments through cultural celebrations and community gatherings energizes me. When we engage students in meaningful ways - they get to share a bit of their whole selves, and that matters. Tell me - how often do you get together with family and friends when it doesn't include (or more often revolve around) food and beverages?
Exciting news! 🎉🥳💰 One of our very own Lumberjacks; Ignacio Agoodie is 1 of 17 winners for the Better Together Get-Together Sweepstakes. He won a $575 Visa gift card and will also have a donation of $500 in his name to the @flagstafffamilyfoodcenter. Congratulations Ignacio! #naucampusdining #sweepstakeswinner #donation #sodexoproud #nauflagstaff Sodexo USA 📸: Miranda Dutton

My passion? Building an extraordinary nonprofit community that cares for every person in Utah and the world in which they live.
Nonprofits across the country are being targeted by a scam that involves large donations. Here is how it can play out. 1. Organization receives an large, unexpected donation for about $200K to honor someone's late relative. 2. The cashier's check looks legitimate and they cash it. 3. A few days later, the same donor emails and says that there has been a mistake and the donation should have been $100K and could the organization refund the difference? 4. The organization complies and sends back $100K, then the donor's check bounces and the organization is out $100K. If You are Targeted: never send money to someone whose identity you cannot verify with 100% certainty. When in doubt, ask the donor to wait 30 days before issuing a refund. (Scamming nonprofits is like being mean to a puppy, isn't it?)

Charitably inclined individuals should be aware of groups that are masquerading as charitable organizations to attract donations. The fraudsters use fake charities as cover to not only obtain money, but also gather sensitive personal and financial information that can be exploited for tax-related identity fraud. When taxpayers contribute to an organization, they may qualify for a tax deduction, but only if they itemize their deductions. To qualify for a deduction, the charity must be an IRS-recognized tax-exempt organization. Donors should check the IRS’s Tax Exempt Organization Search online tool to ensure the legitimacy of a charity. For more details: https://bit.ly/3PVQwWh

⛓️ 🎁 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙜𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙨 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 Restricted gifts to nonprofits require greater care than unrestricted ones. If a donor attaches strings to a gift, your staffers should follow procedures designed to ensure the restrictions are honored. For example, staffers must properly label these gifts and record expenditures associated with them in a spreadsheet or track them as individual funds in the general ledger.
