🚨 Emergency Response in Action! 🚨
When a hurricane impacts our region, Houston Food Bank mobilizes as an emergency response organization to support our 18-county service area. Here's how it works:
🍏 Step 1: Asks
Our teams work with various organizations to receive financial, food and product donations which are all needed during disaster-relief.
💚 Step 2: Volunteer Efforts
Our incredible volunteers sort food, clean items, and pack boxes to make sure everything is safe and ready for distributions.
🚛 Step 3: Distribution
The food is then distributed to communities close to home. 🍽️
🙌 Step 4: Giving
Finally, our partners distribute the food to our neighbors. 📦 ❤️ Finding the nearest food distribution helps them save vital resources like gas, money, and time.

🌪️ In the wake of Hurricane Helene, our community is facing immense challenges. As a realtor and your neighbor, I want to share ways we can come together to help those in need. 💪🏡
1. **Donations**: Consider contributing to local organizations that are providing essential supplies and support. Whether it’s food, water, or clothing, every bit helps!
2. **Fostering Animals**: Many pets have been displaced due to the hurricane. If you have the means, please consider fostering a pet in need. It’s a rewarding way to make a difference and provide love and safety to an animal during this difficult time.
3. **Volunteer Your Time**: Local shelters and recovery centers are in need of volunteers. Offering just a few hours of your time can greatly impact those who are affected.
4. **Support Local Businesses**: Many small businesses have been impacted. Let’s rally together to help them recover by shopping local and spreading the word about their services.
5. **Share Resources**: If you know of local resources or organizations offering assistance, please share them. The more we communicate, the stronger we become as a community.
Let’s stand united and support each other during this challenging time. If you need assistance with housing or recovery efforts, I’m here to help. Together, we will rebuild and emerge stronger. ❤️

New Finish, Inc. Gathers Essential Donations for Hurricane Helene Relief
The unimaginable devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene has rocked Western North Carolina.
The storm’s impact has been overwhelming, leaving behind damaged homes, stranded families, and communities in dire need of basic supplies.
As the people of Western NC begin the difficult process of rebuilding, the team at New Finish, Inc. in Norwood, NC, is stepping up to help.
We are currently collecting essential donation items, such as dog food, bottled water, non-perishable foods, charcoal, and other urgently needed supplies, to deliver directly to those affected by this disaster. We are calling on our community to come together and provide support during this time of critical need.
The Importance of Helping Now
The aftermath of Hurricane Helene is a stark reminder of nature’s destructive power. Homes and businesses have been severely damaged and in some cases completely washed away or destroyed. Many residents have lost everything and are struggling to secure basic necessities. The immediate need for food, water, and shelter is paramount, and we at New Finish want to ensure that the people in this community receive the help they need.
Our donation drive aims to gather as many supplies as possible for those impacted by the storm. We encourage our neighbors and partners to contribute any way they can. Whether it’s a case of water, bags of dog food, or non-perishable canned goods, every donation makes a difference in helping those who have lost so much.
Join Us in Supporting Western Carolina Communities
As we deliver these much-needed donations we also encourage businesses and community members to think about the long-term steps required to restore this region. Rebuilding stronger, more resilient communities means using materials and coatings that will offer enhanced protection in the face of future challenges.

Wherever you are in the world, we need to help these folks. I donated yesterday to Ryan Hall Y'all who is matching donations. They are doing what they can to bring in helicopters and trucks. (where accessible roads are still existing).
Each of us needs to be promoting hope for these folks. The devastation is record-breaking. North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida were all devastated by the impact of Hurricane Helen. The media is quiet.
Let's please come together to bring supplies to them in their desperate time of need. Typically I would not reach out and ask for this. LinkedIn is about business. It's about organizational growth. However, right now these folks need our help. We need to do all that we can to support them in any way that is within our means. There are over 100 people who have been killed. Thousands more missing. They are about to get hit by another storm that appears to be on target for the same path through these states.
Here is where I donated (no affiliation): https://lnkd.in/gvEhGqck
I've been a close follower of this team for years. They bring relief here in the US when natural disaster strikes. Currently they are doing matching funds.
We can make a difference together during this terrible tragedy.
This is where the next storm is predicted to go.

Hurricane Helene Recovery: Communities Coming Together to Rebuild
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the strength and resilience of Southeast communities are shining through. Though the storm has claimed 64 lives and left millions without power, recovery efforts are underway, driven by neighbors and volunteers alike:
In Asheville, NC, where landslides and flooding have cut off entire areas, residents are checking on one another, offering help, and working to rebuild.
Small towns like Steinhatchee, FL, are rallying together, transforming local businesses into donation hubs to help those who’ve lost everything.
WCNC Charlotte has partnered with the American Red Cross to raise donations, with over $18,000 already collected. You can contribute to help those in need at this https://lnkd.in/gDyEbBVT .
Operation Airdrop, a volunteer group distributing supplies after natural disasters, is also sending critical food, water, and goods to isolated mountain communities, including deliveries through Asheville Regional Airport.
We’re sharing these stories to connect you to the recovery efforts and the resources that can help rebuild lives. If you or someone you know needs assistance, apply for disaster help at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362. Follow us for updates and ways you can support.
