It is easy to dismiss the big corporations that buy our milk and dairy products as faceless entities interested only in maximising their bottom lines to satisfy shareholders. Without quality milk and meat many big food corporations do not have a business, but they do have to respond to consumers who are very different to those of the past, and aligning environmental and sustainability values is key, writes Neal Wallace. KEY FOCUS: Developing Ethical Sustainable Organisations | Supply Chain Audits | Certification Programmes | Employee Training |
Always look at business sustainability as an investment – not a cost.
I help organisations move away from conventional, outdated thinking to embrace real ethical and sustainable business practices that create people-centric cultures and leverage competitive advantage in the marketplace.
DID YOU KNOW ... investing in sustainable business practices provides opportunities to improve performance across many areas within an organisation, which is good for your bottom line, your people, innovation, and productivity. But have you ever considered: where your organisation sits within supply chains? Are you a 1st, 2nd or 3rd tier supplier? Do you: feed directly into global supply chains, or do you have New Zealand clients who have global customers? WHY: Because there is a growing global focus to eliminate greenwashing and 'unsubstantiated claims' from supply chains. Plus: have you ever considered how strong your sustainable business processes and practices are? For a no-obligation discussion on how we can help, please contact me on either: T: +64 27 457 2825 E: sandra@ratacert.co.nz #businessethics #businesssustainability #businessforgood #certifications #endorsement #evaluation #getpurposeatwork #globalconnections #greensupplychain #purposedrivenbusiness #sustainability

‘Why is supply chain sustainability so important for us now?’ I was having a call earlier this week and this question came up. My two cents: 𝟭. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Consumers, investors, and governments are all demanding accountability. New laws on supply chain transparency and carbon reporting are emerging fast—falling behind risks penalties and reputational damage. 𝟮. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲. It’s not just about price and delivery anymore; it's about ethical and sustainable practices that reflect your business values. 𝟯. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀—from tracking supplier compliance to managing sustainability initiatives. EcoVadis helps streamline this effort by providing a clear, scalable framework, reducing the complexity and time needed to get your program on track. EcoVadis taught me that companies making real strides in sustainability are not only doing the right thing but are also seeing long-term financial benefits. So if you're not taking this seriously yet, you're missing out on more than just compliance. Just my two cents, but it's worth thinking about. 🌱💼 #Sustainability #SupplyChain #RiskManagement #EcoVadis #Business

Sustainability is a major concern across all realms of commerce these days. And as it turns out, the majority of greenhouse gas emissions are found in the supply chain: Product sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, and delivery have a huge impact on air, soil, and water. ✏ So, when it comes to sustainability, it’s largely the responsibility of supply chain professionals to identify areas of impact where small changes can make a big difference. ✏ In this course, it shares case studies, real world examples to give practical advice on what need to do to start building an effective and measurable sustainability plan that your whole business buys into. ✏ A thorough sustainability program won’t only have a positive environmental impact, it also touches on areas like human rights, ethical labor practices, and anti-corruption. Plus, it can reduce costs, create efficiency, mitigate risk, and increase brand value. #sustainabilityBusiness #sustainabilitysupplychain #Sustainability #LinkedinLearning #ContinuousLearning #Supplychainoperations #ProjectManagementInstitute(PMI)
