Antonio González Viegas and That Open Company (Formerly IFC.js) team gave us tonight a great lesson and hope that #aeco can change to be more innovative and #opensource If I summarize what I understood, starting from a simple to use and efficient #ifcviewer with IFC.js, the ambition of That open company platform is now much bigger : - create a complete open-source toolbox to develop BIM applications in the browser with performant rendering and all the features needed in a professional BIM workflow : measurements, filtering.... - Be able to not only view but also edit ! Which means that everybody can imagine the next "Revit Killer" or "Figma for BIM" that is a tool that allows to conveniently design architectural building in the browser together with modern UI and efficient workflow, probably with some #ai utilities to help us design faster and test many options - A common platform to get services on top of it - A marketplace to sell utility components to extend the library provided by individual developers or companies. - A university and online lessons to teach more people how to code in this new AECO ecosystem using the common framework Well, that's a lot and I forgot some details, so the best is you watch the video on YouTube https://lnkd.in/eS_XeMEP This promise to be quite interesting, and I hope we can contribute with Bricks

However, it seems to be a big challenge to collect all the information required to operate and maintain a building from the different specialists. At the 2024 AEC Hackathon in Switerland organized by opensource.construction, we got together with bimdo GmbH and Aaron Bucher and worked on the challenge proposed by beyondBIM AG: create an easy and straigth forward user interface for FM specialists and owners to specify thier information requirements easily But we didn't stop there and created some additional value. It was hosted at the Engineering Group facilities, in Rome, Italy, and it was focused on the Open Innovation Platform architecture and definition of different services of the PIONEER Project environment. ⚙️ Verra has recently launched a new ARR methodology, VM0047. This methodology is going to replace the existing CDM ARR methodology for VCS projects. ➡️ At Kanop, we are excited to support this new methodology. VM0047 is a groundbreaking methodology in the voluntary carbon market, as it is the first to: - Use dynamic performance benchmarks: Traditional carbon offset methodologies rely on static benchmarks, which can be inaccurate and outdated. Dynamic performance benchmarks on the other hand, are updated regularly to more accurately represent the realities of the carbon projects in question.  - Rely on remote sensing data: VM0047 relies on carbon data from remote sensing tools to establish project baselines and test additionality, which helps to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the projects.
