⚡Bernoulli's Equation⚡ Bernoulli's equation reflects the idea that energy is conserved along a streamline – at least in inviscid fluid dynamics! The three terms can be thought of a representing the pressure energy, kinetic energy and potential energy of the fluid. The equation assumes that the overall sum of these energies doesn’t change along a streamline but the energy of the fluid is just being transferred between the different forms. 📥 Latest newsletter: https://lnkd.in/d7B7fqA #engineeredmind #science #technology #engineering #mechanicalengineering #physics #mathematics #fluidmechanics

🎼 Superconductivity at near-ambient temperatures? A superconductor is a material that carries electrical current without any resistance. This typically occurs at temperatures approaching absolute zero. However, nitrogen-doped lutetium could act as a superconductor at 20 °C under a pressure of 10 kbar (1 bar equals atmospheric pressure). The research team that discovered this superconducting material has previously hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. Concerns over their previous superconductor led to their research paper being withdrawn by the journal Nature (although it has now been resubmitted with new data included). This new superconductor and its potential applications could be of great importance, but it first needs to be comprehensively verified by other research teams. Witness the Magic of Quantum Locking! #Science #Physics Have you ever seen a superconductor levitate? This mind-bending phenomenon is thanks to a concept called quantum locking. The video showcases a type II superconductor cooled with liquid nitrogen. When placed on magnets, it defies gravity and floats! Even flipping the track doesn't break the levitation, and surprisingly, even an orange placed on top levitates too! Superconductors exhibit zero electrical resistance at frigid temperatures. In this experiment, a type II superconductor allows magnetic fields to partially penetrate. The interaction creates "magnetic vortices" that "pin" the superconductor in place, essentially locking it relative to the magnetic field. Quantum locking isn't a repulsive or attractive force, but rather a fascinating effect that keeps the superconductor levitating. #Superconductivity #QuantumMechanics #MaterialScience #Engineering #FutureTech #Maglev #Education #ScienceExperiments
