We developed a Diffractor Module for the Ergofocus PLUS system that simplifies and speeds up the measurement process. From #LentitechTechnologies we are pleased to announce the remarkable progress achieved in #ErgofocusPLUS, our lens centration system based on the visual axis, the diffraction phenomenon and inertial measurements, thanks to the implementation of a new measurement support. This is a Diffractor Module that is easy to use by professionals, which not only substantially reduces measurement time, but also makes the process faster and more intuitive. 🕶️ Applicable to all models of spectacles, including sports and sunglasses. Simplified measurement process: only 1:30 minutes! 🔝 Improved accuracy in taking measurements such as Ocular Rotation Centre, Nasocorrecting Distances in Visual Axis, Dynamic Pantoscopic Carrying Angle and true INSET. The new format has a support in the shape of glasses that incorporates diffraction, on which the model chosen by the user is placed. Once the inertial measuring device (SIME) has been added, measurements are taken, based on the foveola and the visual axis, allowing the process to be fully customised. Unlike all centration and design systems for ophthalmic lenses on the market, the Lentitech Technologies system is referenced to the patient's foveola (not the pupil centre position), so it is the system that indicates the moment at which the alignment (as in a subjective visual examination) of the visual axis with the diffractor and the fixation light spot (which is on the opposite side of the cabinet) occurs. At the same moment the data is collected in two consecutive angular positions, one nasal and one temporal. The data is processed through a digital platform designed specifically for this new system, eliminating errors and ensuring optimal adaptation for users, as frequent discomfort such as double vision or headaches are reduced. Do you want to know how it works? We show you in this video showing the complete metric performed on a real patient. ⬇

Industrial Design & Product Strategy Consultant | Creating iconic physical design solutions for companies of all sizes
While safety factors are always critical when I am developing toys, packaging, housewares and interactive devices, this is the first product that I have designed that is used to SAVE LIVES. "Hubly Surgical, spearheaded by CEO Casey Qadir, came to me (in collaboration with Ontogen Medtech engineering group) with a proof-of-concept for a groundbreaking cranial drill, and a vision to become the standard of care for bedside cranial access and make today's lethal complications a "never event." Before diving into the physical design, based on product and user research, I defined the following Design Criteria and Principles: DESIGN CRITERIA: - One-handed use - Minimize risk, considering hygiene and safety at every user touchpoint - Ergonomic and balanced handling - Steady, stable, and non-slip grip - Direct, intuitive controls and feedback DESIGN PRINCIPLES: 1. Streamlined: Unobtrusive, seamlessly integrated features. No unnecessary steps. 2. Multisensory control: Strong visual and tactile cues. Pronounced interactive features. 3. Scientific Efficacy: Precision performance with dynamic feedback. This is what folks are saying about the FDA-cleared drill that is now in use, saving lives: “The Hubly Drill streamlines this life-saving cranial surgery procedure with its one-handed design that bolsters stability, ease of use, and speed.” Dr. Effendi shared: "Hubly Drill was easy to use and safe. It had a great weight and strong feel, bit the bone well, and didn't slip. Hubly is the first bedside-ICU neurosurgical drill suitable for this millennium." “Hubly Surgical's life-saving tech blows peer-reviewed tests out of the water.” _________________________________________________ I’m Emily Moyer. If you have Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a simple, daily routine can help save more of your vision. What is an Amsler grid? The Amsler grid is a simple square containing a grid pattern and a dot in the middle. When used correctly—once a day, every day—the Amsler grid can show problem spots in your field of vision. How to use an Amsler grid? To use the Amsler grid, follow these steps once a day, every day: Step 1: Wearing any glasses you normally use to read, hold the grid 12 to 15 inches away from your face in good light and cover one eye. Step 2: Look directly at the center dot with your uncovered eye and keep your eye focused on it. While looking directly at the center dot, notice in your side vision if all grid lines look straight or if any lines or areas look blurry, wavy, dark or blank. Step 3: Follow the same steps with the other eye. If you notice any areas of the grid that appear darker, wavy, blank or blurry, contact your ophthalmologist right away. They will check to see what’s going on with your AMD, and begin treatment if appropriate. #CellviewImaging #Cellview #EyeCareInnovation #MedicalImaging #RetinalHealth #SaveYourVision2024 #EyeHealthMatters #VisionCareForAll #LowVision #EyeHealth

Scleral lenses market size was valued at USD 0.28 billion in 2022. The Scleral Lenses Market industry is projected to grow from USD 0.30 Billion in 2023 to USD 0.50 Billion by 2032, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.80% during the forecast period (2023 - 2032), says Market Research Future Get More Details at: https://lnkd.in/d_NpqNmq Scleral lenses are advanced #contact #lenses designed to address a variety of vision issues, particularly those related to corneal irregularities or dry eye syndrome. Unlike traditional lenses, scleral lenses are larger in diameter, covering the entire cornea and resting on the sclera, the white part of the eye. This design creates a vaulted space between the lens and the cornea, filled with saline solution. This reservoir of fluid helps to provide constant hydration to the eye, making scleral lenses an ideal solution for individuals suffering from chronic dry eyes. Moreover, scleral lenses offer exceptional visual acuity by compensating for irregularities in the cornea's shape, providing sharper and clearer vision compared to glasses or standard contact lenses. They also offer greater stability on the eye, making them suitable for those with active lifestyles or specific visual needs. With proper fitting and care, scleral lenses can significantly improve the quality of life for individuals with various eye conditions, offering comfort, clarity, and enhanced visual performance. The scleral lenses market includes some of the prominent players such as ABB OPTICAL GROUP, Bausch Health Companies Inc., Visionary Optics, Essilor, Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc., CooperVision, BostonSight, AccuLens Inc, Tru-Form Optics, SynergEyes, Inc., Valley Contax, Capricornia and Menicon Co. Many say the HiFi is a great design but it isn't adjustable...well that is misinformation. As requested, here are some examples of above knee HiFi Interfaces utilizing Click Medical's dial for added adjustability: 1) First we start with our patented Freestyle Imager device to shapeshift™ and capture the limb as we apply compression with wearer feedback, 2) Next we create a diagnostic HiFi Interface for testing, adjustment, and fine tuning the compression and tissue release (for superior skeletal control), 3) Lastly we create a definitive HiFi Interface based on limb characteristics and wearer preference. In each of these examples we used a subischial brim that allowed for improved comfort while maintaining superior OMNIDIRECTIONAL STABILITY throughout both swing and stance, range of motion, and function. Get your HiFi Your Way. Join the HiFi Revolution as together we replace the standard of care prosthetic socket. #hifiproviders #nomorebuckets #prosthetists #therapists #amputees #adjustability

A prototype of contact lenses has been created that gives a person supervision. New contact lenses will provide their wearer with the vision of a superhero. The product is still in development, but could go on sale as early as 2017, according to International Business Times. Telescopic contact lenses provide almost threefold magnification, which is achieved in the blink of an eye, literally. Zoom contact lenses consist of two parts: an inner ring for normal vision and an outer ring for 2.8x magnification of the visible image. The telescopic effect is created in conjunction with glasses that control the angle at which light hits the lenses. When light hits the outer area of the lenses, the image is magnified. Blinking the right eye activates the magnification function, and blinking the left eye returns normal vision. The new technology also offers hope to millions of patients suffering from vision loss and macular degeneration, the most common cause of blindness in older people. We believe that these contact lenses offer great promise for visually impaired people and patients suffering from age-related macular degeneration. For many seriously ill patients, this is the only chance to regain their vision. The lenses will mainly be used to view distant objects, perhaps while driving or for facial recognition, said inventor Eric Tremblay of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne. A prototype of telescopic contact lenses was shown later this week at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) scientific conference in San Jose, California. The development of the product was carried out in collaboration with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which earlier this week announced the launch of a project to create new prosthetic hands that sense touch. As Tremblay said, DARPA only funds promising things that are out of this world. According to him, the agency is very interested in super vision and wants to create binoculars that quickly fit onto the eyes and give their owner superpowers. However, it will be several years before proximity contact lenses can be used to help those in need. If you've read the article this far please like and subscribe - it really helps the channel.
