We are happy to introduce our new initiative MIL SKILLS: Media and Information Literacy skills of adults to develop critical thinking and combat fake news. This is a project that aims to address the challenges and needs of seniors by enabling them to develop media and information skills as well as the needs of adult educators by equipping them with a holistic methodology and innovative tools in order for them to effectively support their learners. Specifically, MIL Skills will adopt a multidisciplinary approach towards building seniors’ media and information skills, integrating concepts such as information, digital and media literacy, communication skills, ethical considerations, and critical thinking. By developing these skills, individuals can become more informed and engaged citizens, better equipped to navigate the complex landscape of information in the digital age. In the upcoming 24 months all the partners will work actively together in order to achieve the objectives of the MIL SKILLS project. 📌Stay tuned to follow our journey

🇫🇷🇬🇧The world is in a state of upheaval. Back in the early 20th century, Francis Fukuyama’s vision of the « end of history » and the triumph of liberal democracy seemed promising, but it hasn’t unfolded as expected. History teaches us that turbulent times have been faced before. After the fall of the Roman Empire, we endured the Dark Ages, a period of regression. Today, it feels like humanity is once again stumbling into chaos. In the short term, (even in the short term) there is hope. But this hope can be overshadowed by the overwhelming nature of the present circonstances. It paralyzes our work, baffles our collaborators, and turns doomscrolling into a second nature. People struggle to digest the constant stream of information. So, what’s the path forward? I propose what I call the « Hygiene Soft Skills Triada »: We must elevate our cultural awareness, enhance media literacy, and promote critical thinking. Why cultural awareness? Cultivating it reduces ethnocentrism and prevents us from judging everything solely by our own standards. Cultural awareness builds bridges. Media literacy equips us with the tools to navigate the flood of information, helping us discern fact from fiction. Critical thinking empowers us to question, analyze, and challenge the status quo and information, ensuring that we don’t blindly accept what’s presented to us. Soft skills have always been a crucial aspect of La Classe training programs, and now, I’ve designed a 1.5-hour Soft Skills Triada program for your teams.
