A thought for your weekend... Whenever we visit a restaurant, my wife and I make it a point to ask the names of everyone we interact with, from the front door to our exit. It's a small gesture, but it's our way of acknowledging and appreciating each person's contribution. It's the Tele911 way. Last night, Payton (the busboy) returned to our table, not just to clear dishes, but to express his gratitude. He said, "Hey, thank you. You were the first person to ask our names and remember them even though we have been working here for months." This simple act of kindness made such an impact on him. This weekend, as many of us dine out, I encourage everyone to try this simple act. Ask the names of those who serve you. It’s a small gesture that can leave a positive imprint, especially in the world of teens like Payton, experiencing their first job and forming their view of the world. Once, in a quaint village nestled at the foot of towering mountains, there thrived a baker known not for his pastries but for his fabrications. This baker, who once held the keys to the village's grand oven, would confidently present burnt buns as a special delicacy and claim the charred taste was a mark of sophistication, not failure. The villagers, enamored by his charisma, often swallowed his tall tales whole. But the winds of change murmured anew. Imagine, if you will, that baker's role extending beyond burnt buns and into matters of safety, leading to lofty promises when lives hung in the balance. How much longer could the villagers afford to ignore the soot-stained truth before it spelt their demise? To dismiss the former president’s cavalier dance with the truth as mere whimsy or the norm of a grizzled political player is as naïve as believing that baker’s tales would save you from a stomachache. When leaders weave cobwebs of deceit, they don’t just trap flies, they ensnare hopes and dreams and lead us blindly into the spider’s lair. What lies beyond the horizon isn't just a new chapter, it’s the very parchment where our future will be penned. We mustn't let myth replace memory or let fables obscure facts.
