The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), launched under President Trump’s second term, aims to modernize federal tech and IT systems - among other things. For HR, this could mean big changes in how reports, forms, and data are submitted to federal agencies. #HR #Compliance #EmploymentLaw

The DOGE Plan to Reform Government Following the Supreme Court’s guidance, we’ll reverse a decadeslong executive power grab. President Trump has asked the two of us to lead a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to cut the federal government down to size. The entrenched and ever-growing bureaucracy represents an existential threat to our republic, and politicians have abetted it for too long. That’s why we’re doing things differently. We are entrepreneurs, not politicians. We will serve as outside volunteers, not federal officials or employees. Unlike government commissions or advisory committees, we won’t just write reports or cut ribbons. We’ll cut costs. We are assisting the Trump transition team to identify and hire a lean team of small-government crusaders, including some of the sharpest technical and legal minds in America. This team will work in the new administration closely with the White House Office of Management and Budget. The two of us will advise DOGE at every step to pursue three major kinds of reform: https://lnkd.in/g7NZMZiJ

In funding software companies, you ask, "is that a feature or a company?" In government we should ask, "Is that a program or an agency? If a new program is funded, it should have a measureable goal or ROI in a finite period of time. It can be assigned to an existing agency. The program should end when the onjective is achieved. Bureaucrats have infinitely extended the life of programs and funding by creating hundreds of new bureaus and agencies to expand their control. DOGE will end this. DOGE could target SEC, CFPB – are both agencies needed?

ELON AND VIVEK LAY OUT THEIR VISION FOR DOGE: A BOLD PLAN TO REFORM GOVERNMENT In a thought-provoking WSJ op-ed, Elon and Vivek outline their ambitious agenda for the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). As the leaders of this unconventional initiative, they aim to cut costs, slash regulations, and streamline the federal bureaucracy.👇 🎯 DOGE's Mission: Cut Costs, Slash Regulations, Streamline Government Elon and Vivek outline a three-pronged approach to reforming the federal government: regulatory rescissions, administrative reductions, and cost savings. Their goal is to eliminate the need for DOGE's existence by July 4, 2026, delivering a leaner, more efficient government. 🚫 Reversing Executive Overreach: Applying Supreme Court Rulings DOGE will work with legal experts to identify regulations that exceed the authority granted by Congress, based on recent Supreme Court decisions. Trump can then nullify these regulations, stimulating the economy and correcting executive overreach. 🔍 Rightsizing the Bureaucracy: Proportionate Reductions in Workforce As regulations are rescinded, DOGE will identify the minimum number of employees required for agencies to perform their constitutionally permissible functions. The workforce will be reduced proportionately, with support for transitioning employees to the private sector. 💸 Delivering Cost Savings: Auditing Contracts, Eliminating Waste DOGE aims to end unauthorized federal expenditures, audit long-standing contracts, and identify waste, fraud, and abuse. They believe significant savings can be achieved without cutting entitlement programs, focusing instead on executive actions. 🇺🇸 A Birthday Gift to the Nation: Restoring the Founders' Vision Elon and Vivek see this as a historic opportunity to restore the federal government to the Founders' vision. With a decisive electoral mandate and a conservative Supreme Court majority, they are prepared to face resistance from entrenched interests and deliver results by America's 250th anniversary. The appointment of #ElonMusk and #VivekRamaswamy to lead DOGE reflects Trump's commitment to unconventional thinking and bold action. Their entrepreneurial approach and focus on executive action promise a new era of government efficiency, leaving a lasting impact on the federal bureaucracy.

Axe the FED: The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to help President-elect Trump's administration cut wasteful federal spending could look at streamlining regulatory agencies covering the financial sector. DOGE announced on Thursday that it is opening the process of applying to workers interested in taking on the cost-cutting push, which Musk said will be a "revolution" for reining in waste and fraud in the federal government, though there remains uncertainty over how much cost-cutting it will be able to accomplish. DOGE is accepting applications via direct messages on X and on Friday allowed all X users to send DMs after previously requiring a $7 a month premium X subscription. The cost-cutting endeavor could take a look at regulatory agencies that have overlapping jurisdictions as a means of boosting efficiency and controlling costs, as Gary Cohn, former director of the National Economic Council, said on FOX Business Network's "The Claman Countdown" that two financial regulators could face scrutiny. "We have a lot of costs in the U.S. government in a lot of different regulatory agencies, regulatory agencies that potentially overlap," Cohn said. "The [Consumer Financial Protection Bureau] and the [Securities and Exchange Commission], they both are regulators for retail investors." https://lnkd.in/e-w-ehBq The Biggest Grift In History Typically only a small number of career officials control Treasury’s payment systems. Run by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, the sensitive systems control the flow of more than $6 trillion annually to households, businesses and more nationwide. Tens, if not hundreds, of millions of people across the country rely on the systems, which are responsible for distributing Social Security and Medicare benefits, salaries for federal personnel, payments to government contractors and grant recipients and tax refunds, among tens of thousands of other functions. This is not acceptable or wise or good... They are not government officials nor have they had any clearances... We are going to be robbed and they will use force and authority to hide what they are doing and taking. This is why they got rid of the 15 Inspector Generals and stopped the funding to national programs so that they can redirect our trillions of tax dollars to their pockets. We are being taken for a ride and the country's vaults are going to be emptied into billionaires and the party of the administration. They don't want the FBI or any federal agency to be able to investigate the Grift of taxpayer dollars 💵💰 Moving out all experienced staff and leaders so no one can check their hand. The use of power to steal money and make the people blind and confused 😕 by all the distractions and side cars about race and DEI... This will go down as the single biggest Grift in history.... It's really something how many people are fooled... Than once their payments and services disappear, people will likely riot at which point he will use our own military 🪖 against us.... This is very , very , bad 😭😔😧...
