If you give employees the wrong gift this holiday season, you’re spending money to make them feel worse. You’re better off not sending anything at all. Research shows 31% of employees have received a gift in the past that made them feel unappreciated. Getting employees the wrong gift isn’t just a waste of money. It’s erodes job satisfaction and employee engagement. Keep it simple this year and give employees what they want most: money. For more info, check out our guide to holiday gifts:

Voice of The Employee Lifecycle: Over the last several years, Pulse Surveys have become a popular tool to gather the voice of the employee. Although an important tool, I fear that this also is causing “over surveying” of employees. We need to be responsible in how often we are asking employees to provide us insights on their employment experiences. At Work Institute we believe that Pulse Surveys should be used sparingly and for certain situations. They are ideal for quick quantitative feedback. This is especially useful when employers want to confirm that actions/interventions that have been implemented are working. Check out our Essential Guide to Pulse Surveys for more details. https://lnkd.in/gSGbjn-H

One of the keys to providing better employee benefits is understanding what your employees want. Surveys are a great way to get feedback, but are you asking the right questions? Make sure your surveys are effective by including both traditional and emerging benefits in your questions. Ask open-ended questions with free-form answers to get the most honest feedback possible. And don't forget to make answers anonymous so your employees feel comfortable sharing their opinions. Finally, work with a benefits broker to analyze the results and implement plans that will excite your employees. By following these steps, you can provide benefits that truly meet your employees' needs. #hr #employeebenefits #survey

The advice I would give you before you send your first employee survey… (or next survey!) 💭 💡Make sure your employees know why they're answering the survey, and how you'll use their feedback. 💻 Avoid sending the survey during busy periods, deadline season, and annual leave! 📏 Consider the length of your survey - to make sure you get quality data and avoid survey fatigue don't make it too long or too short 📝 Check the quality of your questions - you need to make sure they're clear, focused, and not leading 🤗 Give employees confidence that ALL feedback is welcome and valued (guaranteeing anonymity helps with this!). What's missing from this list? 🤔 p.s if you're looking for some great employee survey software, make sure you take a look at Stribe 💛 #employeesurveys #employeeengagement #hr
