I am grateful to the authors and contributors of The Practical Playbook III. I particularly appreciate the closing statement, "recognizing that without healthy women and birthing people, the health of our families and communities is affected across the life span." The authors also note that "we (every stakeholder) cannot delay implementation of efforts to prevent the nearly 1,000 maternal deaths each year, lest we lose our most important resource, our mothers and birthing people." Indeed, healthy mothers and birthing people make = a healthy society! The best part is that this rich compendium of resources is FREE. Use the link in the post below to access the online version. #maternalhealth

Wildflower Health joins ACOG and women’s health organizations across the country in observing Maternal Health Awareness Day today, January 23. It’s a day to bring light to the care, many times lack of care, and access options women must knowledgeably navigate to ensure their health is supported at every step. The ACOG theme for Maternal Health Awareness Day, “Access in Crisis,” focuses on how access to maternal health care has become increasingly challenging for many patients in the U.S. Ongoing financial, staffing and policy challenges have resulted in patients needing to travel long distances for care or going without needed care. #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay #maternalhealth #valuebasedcare #valuebasedmaternitycare #maternity #womenshealth #digitalhealth #innovation #maternalhealthoutcomes #healthequity

"Today is Maternal Health Day, a day to recognize the importance of ensuring safe and healthy pregnancies for all women around the world. Every mother deserves access to quality healthcare, skilled birth attendants, and necessary resources to ensure a positive childbirth experience. Let's work together to reduce maternal mortality rates, improve access to prenatal care, and empower women to make informed choices about their reproductive health. #MaternalHealthDay #HealthForAll"
