🆕Fresh blogpost out now ⛴️Alongside partners like SSAB, LKAB, and Luleå Energi, Uniper is turning competition into collaboration. Recently we sat down together with Luleå Energi, SSAB, and LKAB to talk about our collaborative efforts in Luleå regarding the Bothnia LinkH2 Project. Our main objective is focused on how we can produce renewable eMethanol by transforming industry energy and residual waste. A project that needs access to electricity, biogenic CO2 and port areas. Together we aim to transform a significant portion of the current energy system to fossil-free and by that creating an improved value chain. ⚡So far the project have managed to free up around 1000-megawatts by addressing the electricity supply together. We hope that this project will work as blueprint for more sustainable industrial practices and want to encourage other projects nationwide to follow the same path. Haffner Energy and IDUNN H2 have formed a strategic partnership to create Iceland's largest e-SAF facility near Keflavík Airport (KEF). The facility, set to produce 65,000 tonnes of e-SAF annually by 2028, will combine green hydrogen from Iceland’s renewable power grid with biogenic carbon from Haffner Energy’s biocarbon gasification technology. This innovative approach reduces costs and improves energy efficiency compared to traditional methods relying on CO2 capture. Icelandair has committed to using up to 45,000 tonnes of e-SAF per year, marking a significant step toward sustainable aviation. ENERCON and The Port of Trelleborg eyes on future-ready port to become a major energy hub! I'm delighted with the news that the Port of Trelleborg, #scandinavia's largest RoRo port, aspires to be Europe's most sustainable RoRo port by 2040, with net-zero emissions. The aim of the installation of its wind turbines is a significant accomplishment. It would also facilitate access to sustainable fuels such as green hydrogen and recharging infrastructure with energy from renewable sources. The EU's "Green FIT 2025" initiative and funding from 2021-2024 will help Europe achieve carbon neutrality.
