🚉 The communication services of future trains require hyperconnectivity between trains and track. Moving beyond traditional FRMCS bands, 5GMED introduces a collaborative model between Infrastructure Managers, Railway Undertakings, and Mobile Network Operators, enriched with satellite networks. This approach encompasses an adaptative Gigabit train-to-track connectivity solution able to fit digital train requirements. The 5G Fréjus project is a key part of the European Union co-funded initiatives for deploying 5G infrastructure across cross-border sections of 5G corridors.  The ultimate goal? Ensuring seamless connectivity when crossing borders.  The 5G Fréjus inception study is paving the way for 5G coverage in the Fréjus tunnel, connecting Italy and France. This study aims to assess the efforts needed to fully realize the transport corridor through the Fréjus rail and road tunnels.
