It’s true in so many areas, but without a doubt DoD acquisitions is the worst. Part of the problem is that there is simply too much policy for any one person to truly know (a good use case for GenAI). However, in training, acquisition professionals hear silly statements from their instructors like, “I don’t look good in an orange jumpsuit,” or “CYA. Call Your Attorney.” Instead of being driven to find a way to get to yes, culturally we are engineered to say ‘no’ from our first day of school…

I’ll paraphrase Arnold Patent by saying, “We don’t create abundance we create limitations to the abundance.” Something to think about when we make assumptions of what we can and can’t do in a world where everything was once an idea. From the individual to the organization there are very little differences in the how we see the world around us. 💡Maybe it’s more about people than process. 💡Maybe the process needs to be measurable before it can be manageable. 💡Beliefs = Behaviros = Outputs = Environment ♻️ Call to action: 🚀You have permission to be apart of the difference and you don’t need to be perfect to make an impact. From your personal to professional life start creating the habit of being a professional problem solver. It takes discipline and self awareness but will become easier the more you do it and you will start to align with others like you. So be brave and take a breathe because it’s actually really rewarding to be apart of something bigger than yourself especially when you’re a builder and not a blocker.
