🎉 Thrilled to Announce the Completion of My Master's Dissertation! 🎓 After months of dedicated research and analysis, I've completed my Master's dissertation at the University of Liverpool, exploring the fascinating intersection of computational biology and structural bioinformatics. 🧬💻 🔬 Research Focus: Axiom Compliance in Protein Structure Comparison - A Critical Analysis of Similarity Measures ✨ Key Highlights: 1️⃣ Innovative Approach: Examined the mathematical properties of the Local Distance Difference Test (LDDT), a crucial metric in protein structure comparison. 2️⃣ Rigorous Analysis: Investigated LDDT's adherence to metric space axioms, particularly symmetry and triangle inequality. 3️⃣ Computational Challenge: Processed over 2400 protein chains, requiring significant computational resources and optimization. This project pushed the boundaries of our understanding of protein structure comparison metrics, potentially impacting fields from drug discovery to disease research. 🧪💊 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to my incredible supervisors, Professor Olga Anosova and Professor Vitaliy Kurlin, for their invaluable guidance and support. Happy to share that I have successfully defended my thesis and can thus graduate from my Masters in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at ETH Zürich 👨🎓 Especially the first year was a big challenge, having to adapt to the higher standards in Math and Computer Science at ETH as compared to my Bachelor and there were many nights I had to finish assignments instead of going to party with my friends and flatmates 🙇♂️ 👨💻 Luckily, I can say it was absolutely worth it, and the practical projects in my second year proved to me how useful these skills are in medical research 👨🔬 Big specially thanks to Leopold Franz who supervised my thesis and tolerated my weird music taste 🎶 I think we really had a great time together, and I am very proud of the progress we made in building digital twin mechanistic models of the hormone and follicle growth dynamics of the female reproductive cycle 🤖 Hopefully, these #insilico tools will soon help the many people struggling to conceive naturally, and make #IVF a less costly and side-effect prone procedure 👶 I cannot wait to share the next step of my scientific career, but I will wait until I have some more concrete research plans 🤓 #femtech #modeling #bioinformatics #healthtech #graduation
