Increase your chances for funding from 0% to 100% by your review of the information below and in doing so bring the world from 0% funding for World Peace to 1%.
The only way for Jazz for Peace to help is for the people in need to understand our program and how it works! 1.JAZZforPEACE has helped over 850 of the world's most outstanding causes because of an incredible funding model called the empowerment tree and it's extraordinarily easy to qualify for as follows: Question 77: "What charity or cause is most likely to get your backing and resources?" ANSWER: Those who follow Easy Guidelines. Helpful Tip: Never give a Donation link to a Foundation. Foundations have guidelines for funding. For example: JAZZforPEACE firmly believes that the best decision our world could possibly make would be to go from 0% funding for peace to 1%, bringing funding for war down from 100% to 99%. So far we have never met a single person who disagrees. To achieve our goal, we need to fund outstanding causes like you. Follow our easy guidelines which start by submitting your comment to info@jazzforpeace.org Give us your commitment to follow guidelines, not your donation link. An interesting read from the Financial Times on Baille Gifford withdrawing funding from arts festivals and the impact this sort of campaigning has on small festival organisations. Raises interesting questions about museums/galleries having ethics boards to have a more robust approach to this, practically impossible for smaller charitable orgs. Clearly, there should be more public funding for arts and culture, but in the absence of this where does the money come from and how do we ensure those funding align with our values? All difficult but important questions for arts festivals for the future. #arts #funding #festivals https://lnkd.in/e9ZN_cw4
After Baillie Gifford, who is ‘clean’ enough to fund the arts?

An extraordinary story is playing out in the UK in fundraising for the arts and culture. This Financial Times article covers it very well (I can send you a PDF if you can’t get past the paywall). Asset management firm Baillie Gifford’s sponsorship of book festivals was targeted by a group called Fossil Free Books. FFB managed to secure the support of many authors to join their campaign. BG has now withdrawn their sponsorship from literature festivals which means some may close. There is now a significant backlash against FFB. An editorial in The Guardian pointed out that BG invests far more in green energy than fossil fuels. And the co-leader of the Green Party expressed regret over the outcome. For fundraisers there is a concern that the scrutiny BG was subjected to will deter other potential arts donors and sponsors. The FT headline asks, who is ‘clean’ enough to fund the arts? I don’t think that is entirely the right framing. I would ask, ‘who is brave enough?’ A successful partnership has always been about finding a match between the non-profit and the funder. In the more contentious world we all operate in now something else is also needed, which is a willingness to defend the partnership if it comes under scrutiny. https://lnkd.in/guZWqqmK

Director at The Old Courts and Wigan Royal Court Theatre. Passionate about arts, culture and heritage. Let's celebrate what we have and make positive things happen.
This is a call out for help! Last year The Old Courts discovered catastrophic structural damage to the music venue and theatre which was later proven to have been caused by a third party construction company. Fast forward a year and we've still not received a penny from the insurance as they deemed the work to be negligent as opposed to accidental so we've had to go legal with the construction company. Despite this, we kept going! The Old Courts is a not for profit organisation and all profits go back in to arts, culture and community projects. In the last 12 months, we've given away 780 free sessions to community groups such as men's mental health, suicide training, abstinence group, community arts workshops etc. We also gave away 522 days of free space to artists and musicians to make work, rehearse and show work. We provided 192 days of training for artists, musicians, producers and organisations. 1330 artists, musicians and producers were provided with support, space and advice. Anyway, we cant wait any longer, we need the venues up and running. We miss our community and live events! So, we've decided to do a fundraiser on Crowdfunder. It's on all or nothing which means if we don't raise the money needed all pledges will be refunded. We've got 4 weeks to raise £100k. Please help us if you can! Ways you can help: 1. Comment on our social media posts and share the Crowdfunder page. 2. Have a look if there are any rewards you would like to buy on our Crowdfunder page. 3. We are looking for a sponsor to take the naming right of our music venue and theatre - if you know someone who might be interested - please tell them to put a sealed bid in! 4. Consider booking your next work event (or private event) at The Old Courts or consider basing yourself at The Old Courts - we have creative studios too. 5. Please help us keep momentum by chatting about us. Thank you so much - we want to see scenes like the below again in our venues. Bx https://lnkd.in/dGWSzU_R

Empowering business leaders to align their wealth to become more generous to themselves, the people they love, and their communities.
What if I told you that you could invest $1 and get back $21? Don't worry, I'm not pitching you a fund, but what I am saying is that investment in our #artsandculture sector has a massive, and well documented, benefit on our society. I think too often we focus just on how art feeds our souls and not how it also enriches our economy and other industries. Artists drive growth in hospitality and tourism, and also are too often the victims of the #gentrification that comes as a byproduct of the "cool" factor the arts provide. But, if the #arts generate $21 for every $1 invested... where is that money going and why are the artists the last ones to usually see the pennies of those generated dollars? Or worse yet, sold the myth of the "noble" starving artist? Arts and culture is in crisis right now, and government grants that have been such a driver of the sector for a while are at historic lows. Simply put, something has to be done, and it's going to take a village. For those of us for whom arts and culture are a core part of our #philanthropy there's a few things we can do right now: 1. Consider #strategic philanthropy to increase our donated dollars. Strategies like "in-kind" donations, corporate donations, legacy gifts via #wills and #lifeinsurance, all of these are things we should investigate with our advisors. You're probably going to be meeting with them anyways to discuss the #federalbudget2024... perhaps this topic should be on the agenda? 2. Listen to artists and consider how trust-based philanthropy fits into our giving plan. Challenge your boards to focus on pay equity for artists and pay artists what they're worth. 3. Look into providing physical spaces for artists to create. While you may not be in a position to create a Community Land Trust, look out for spaces like B-Street Studios by TAPA - Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts, The Bridge by Bygone Theatre that are committed to providing affordable space for creation. 4. Reach out to your local community foundations, as their mandates are often to uplift grass-roots and community organizations - of whom artists are often members. Toronto Foundation is the one in my backyard (and to whom I am a supporter and fundholder myself) in case you're a Torontonian. #arts #charity #givingback #economics #theatre #filmandtv
