🌱 Many thanks to LOOP Forum for providing a unique experience of immersing myself in the forefront of circularity at the conference last week, 24.04! 🔄 I was part of a gathering where startup innovators, thought leaders, and changemakers converge to reshape our approach to resource consumption. In a world grappling with environmental challenges, it's crucial to explore holistic solutions that prioritize regeneration over depletion. "From waste to wonder: Transforming resources for a circular world" was an inspiring pitch session of various circular startup solutions, supported by Clean. "Circular Foresight – What does our preferred circular future look like and how do we get there?", session sponsored by Ramboll Management Consulting with a captivating speaker Patrick Moloney, gave insight into how Circular Foresight can and should guide businesses to build a more resilient, sustainable and prosperous future by considering multiple perspectives and intentionally shaping the present to construct the desired, circular future.

🌍 Just wrapped up an inspiring experience at the IMPACT FESTIVAL, where innovators and changemakers gathered to accelerate sustainable transformation! 🚀 A few of our key takeaways: 🔹 Corporate Sustainability Reporting: Many start-ups are zeroing in on sustainability reporting, which not only meets regulatory needs but also helps companies pinpoint areas for improvement, gaining a long-term competitive edge. At the Impact Festival Dinner hosted by Commerzbank AG, this was a major theme, with impressive real-world examples shared from their client network. 🔹 Decarbonizing the Building Sector: With its complexity and cost, the building sector poses a significant decarbonization challenge. Innovative start-ups are working to simplify solutions, supporting customers in managing, financing, and implementing these critical measures—a sector full of exciting potential! 🔹 Tech for Climate Action: Meeting founders driven to solve climate challenges was a highlight. From advancements in storage, biodiversity, and carbon storage in biomaterials to decarbonizing industrial processes and financing renewable projects, it was incredible to see so much cutting-edge tech in one place. 🔹 Catching Up with Klimate.co: A pleasure to reconnect with our portfolio company Klimate.co and Erik Wihlborg and his team, who are making strides in end-to-end carbon removal strategies for businesses. We are partnering with the annual CU Boulder Sustainability Hackathon! Participation in this goes towards a Sustainable Innovation Micro-credential. Do you have ideas on how we can solve a sustainability issue? Do you lack an idea but want to be part of a team working on a solution? The sustainability hackathon will give you the opportunity to “hack” some of the sustainability issues our society is facing. Your solution to a problem could include technology or have no technology at all. The key is coming together with others who are passionate about solving problems, teaming up on a solution idea, and having fun in the process of building something to have an impact on the world. I am proud to share that 2024 was again a successful year for Ecochain . Some of the highlights we achieved: ✅ Our financial performance ended up above target with our software revenue growing by 33%, and around 150 new customers joining. ✅ Together, our customers created an estimated 250.000 Product Impact Life Cycles. All opportunities to understand and reduce the impact of their products. ✅ We couldn’t have achieved this without our key partners in 2024 Nexio Projects, EcoReview, Encon, and Mediator ApS ✅ We launched our EPD at Scale toolbox ✅ We further improved our Customer experience scores both in NPS and CSAT. ✅ In April, we achieved Pact Pathfinder conformance tested. Enabling us to exchange PCF data based on Pathfinder methodology. ✅ We participated in key sustainability events like Climate Week NYC, Greener Manufacturing Show Cologne, IBU Berlin, Sustainable Industry Live Manchester, LCA Food Barcelona, Eco Platform Brussels, and more. ✅ Applied for B Corp certification (expect top pass during 1st half 2025) and published our first full (ESG) sustainability report! ✅ Last but definitely not least, we did this with an amazing team of capable and engaged (95%+) colleagues.   💡 Looking ahead to 2025, I am also excited for what’s to come for us. ➡️ Continuing our growth trajectory and -after 2 years of investing- we expect to become break-even again by mid-year 2025. ➡️ Continue to advocate the importance of LCA at multiple events across Europe – some already confirmed. ➡️ Supporting businesses navigating the accelerating demand for impact insights on product-level, driven by CSRD, ESPR, and Green Claims regulations.   As the urgency for accurate Scope 3 data grows, so does the need for in-house LCA expertise powered by user-friendly software. However, staying ahead of the evolving landscape of standards for environmental data exchange at the product level remains a challenge for many.   Our commitment? To be a trusted partner for manufacturers, offering cutting-edge software and expert guidance to simplify this complex journey.   Here’s to another impactful year ahead! 🌱
