You don't JUST have restaurant experience: You have experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while handling numerous tasks simultaneously. You don't JUST have retail experience: You have experience aligning synergies with clients to identify their needs and offer product solutions. You don't JUST have warehouse experience: You have experience managing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of inventory while fulfilling over 50 orders daily. You don't JUST have experience staying home with the kiddos: You have experience managing the household's day-to-day operations while ensuring alignment with meetings, appointments, and other crucial events. My point is: STOP saying you "JUST" have experience in something. Your experience is valid; you just need to phrase it correctly. Have the confidence to step outside your comfort zone and apply to the job you want.

The two critical control points to successfully operating a restaurant kitchen are Cost of goods, and LABOR! Controlling cost of goods is relatively easy as it is a function of process, purchasing, and menu pricing. Labor, on the other hand, involves people. And though we love our people, they are not easily boiled down into a nuts and bolts equation that yields a desired outcome. Where do you start? Don't Stop Interviewing and Hiring! Maintain a seekers mindset and commit to searching and interviewing to improve operations. Why? Because: • There is always a weak link on the team. Face it, not everyone in the kitchen is a star player • There is always someone on their way out: "I'm moving away". "I found a new opportunity", "My school schedule changed"... and the list goes on. • There is always someone better, be it talent, availability, or culture fit. Always hire the best people available and you will always have the best team to operate your kitchen. And commit to hiring when the best people are available, not just when you need them. Let me repeat that in a different way: Commit to constant interviewing and hiring so that when the star players apply, you can hire them. If you wait until you need someone, chances are you will hire a warm body and never get your operations out of the mud. #kitch(en)gine #restaurants #kitchen #chefs #kitchenmanagers #restaurantoperations #restaurantconsulting

🔷 Human Resource Specialist 🌟 LinkedIn Expert 🌟 ATS-Friendly CVs 🎯 Career Coach 🥇 Board Member 🌟 Project Management Leader 💻➤ Transforming Vision into Results
Your career is like the restaurant you used to love. You know the one. It had your favorite dish, and you knew the waitstaff. It always felt good to be there. Until it didn't. The last few times you went... The decor looked dated. The service wasn't as attentive. And the food quality, well, it could have been better. You used to recommend people to this restaurant, but you can't any longer. You had hoped this was a momentary hiccup, but now you see this is permanent. You want more. You want variety. You want great service. You want a good ambiance. You need to break from the past and try something new. Does this sound familiar in your career? Your career can be like that restaurant, comfortable but no longer serving your needs. You can continue to frequent it or expand your horizons and try something different, something better. Its time to look for a perfect place to savor every bite of your professional journey.
