Hughes recently hosted the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce board retreat at our Germantown headquarters, continuing our 35-year commitment as a Chamber member and 25-year corporate sponsor. This annual gathering brings together the board, comprised of leaders from businesses across Upper Montgomery County, to strategize, collaborate, and plan for the year ahead. While here, the group also had the opportunity to tour our manufacturing facility, gaining insights into the innovative work happening at Hughes. Thank you to Shah Behzadi, VP of IT, for representing Hughes on the Chamber’s board of directors. #CommunityLeadership #ChamberOfCommerce #Gaithersburg #Germantown #BusinessGrowth

Closing a chapter on a leadership journey is never easy. It’s tough to step back after pouring so much passion, energy, and heart into something and to let others take the baton. Leadership isn’t just about the time spent or the goals achieved; it’s about the relationships built, the challenges faced, and the growth experienced along the way. While it’s hard to say goodbye to Engage Dallas, I’m grateful for every lesson learned and every person who has been part of this journey. Though this chapter is ending, the impact will continue to shape my path forward. Here’s to new beginnings and carrying the experiences with me into the next adventure. #Leadership #Community #EngageDallas #DallasTx #Leadership #Growth #NewBeginnings

🌍 Cooke Industries – A Legacy of Leadership and Community 🌍 Thank you to Cliff Cooke and Justin Nichols at Cooke Industries for their dedication to investing in their team and our region. Cooke Industries, a proud family business with a global reach in specialty pool equipment, exemplifies the spirit of giving and community leadership. Their long-standing support of community events and initiatives, including the Northern Mallee Leaders Program, has not only created strong leaders but has also fostered a culture of growth, appreciation, and connection. At Cooke Industries, giving and appreciation aren’t just words—they’re actions. By investing in their staff, Cooke Industries creates better team members, parents, coaches, friends, and neighbours. Their commitment to leadership doesn’t end with the workplace; it echoes in the community, building individuals who see themselves as others often do—with potential, kindness, and resilience. After some heavy persuasion from Leticia Price – fellow team member at Cooke Industries and 2022 NMLP Graduate – Demetrious Zaxos joined our program this year as a sponsored participant from Cooke Industries. His journey has been transformative, and we look forward to celebrating his graduation with the Cooke Industries team, reflecting on the growth and impact they inspire in each person they support. Thank you, Cooke Industries, for making a difference and for inspiring everyone around you to be better, not only in their careers but in every role they play in life. 🌟 #CookeIndustries #CommunityLeadership #FamilyBusiness #NorthernMalleeLeaders #CreatingBetterCommunities #LeadershipThroughGiving

"Leadership is not about the next election; it’s about the next generation." Howard Schultz (Former CEO Starbuck) True leadership involves thinking long-term and leaving a lasting impact. Leadership level 5 (Good to Great - Jim Collins) also mentioned: Their ambition is first and foremost for the organization and concern for its success, rather than their own personal riches and renown. They want to see the company even more successful in the next generation.

A favorite Nick Saban quote is: "When you invest your time, you make a goal and a decision of something that you want to accomplish. Whether it's make good grades in school, be a good athlete, be a good person, go down and do some community service and help somebody who's in need, whatever it is you choose to do, you're investing your time in that." This mindset applies to career development as well. The 925 plan sets up undergraduates for success by helping them become early investors in their careers. #CollegeStudents #CollegeLife #StudentLife #CampusLife #CollegeStudent #UniversityLife #StudentSuccess #CollegeGoals #CollegeVibes #WorkLife #CareerGoals #OfficeLife #ProfessionalLife #9to5 #JobHunt #CareerDevelopment #CareerPath #CareerGrowth #CareerSuccess #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #ProfessionalDevelopment #JobSatisfaction #CareerFulfillment #LoveYourJob #MeaningfulWork #JobJoy #PurposeDriven #PassionProject #IndependentLiving #SelfSufficiency #FreedomLifestyle #LiveYourBestLife #SelfReliance #CareerReady #925plan #earlyinvestor
