Polysmiths recently unveiled their latest project, Arch House, which marries Mediterranean design elements with traditional London architecture. The studio aimed to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that resonates with the client's roots in Gibraltar, highlighted by stunning structural arches and a unique lime plaster finish. The renovation includes an expansive 34-square-meter extension that transforms the home's layout into interconnected spaces filled with light. Reflecting on this project, I remember my own experiences traveling through Mediterranean regions and how their architecture conveys a sense of harmony with nature. The use of natural materials and light in Polysmiths's design truly captures that essence. How do you integrate cultural influences into your design projects? Do you feel that personal experiences play a significant role in architectural choices? It's fascinating to see how design can tell a story and reflect one's background! Polysmiths has not only prioritized aesthetics but also sustainability by minimizing waste during construction. This thoughtful approach is something we should all aim for in our projects.
