I think Europe has it right on this.   When I worked in Spain, we had summer hours, we got done working at 2pm. We skipped lunched at noon and just left at 2pm to enjoy the summer days. Then in August, the company shutdown for 2 weeks and they told me to go find something to do somewhere else because the whole city was basically shutting down and going on vacation at the same time. They weren’t kidding.   Living in Minnesota now, I think, why don’t we do the same thing?! Everyone gets out to enjoy the sun and warm weather as much as they can, why not implement summer hours? We are indoors 9 months out of the year because of the cold, why not let people get that vitamin D and exercise in during the summer. I bet productivity and morale would go way up.   As for a company shutdown, I know many companies here in MN that take off between Christmas and New Year so why not a two-week shutdown in August? Again, I bet productivity would go up. https://lnkd.in/gmD_U49C
