For this week’s #TeammateTuesday, we head to Dallas and shine the spotlight on someone who wields a comprehensive knowledge of insurance: Hull & Company-Texas underwriter and broker Eric Johnson. With 37 years in the industry, Eric started his insurance career in the mailroom at United States Fidelity and Guaranty. He moved to accounting, then commercial rating, then off to underwriting. Eric brings not only experience, but a sense of past, present, and future markets. “Texas markets have changed and will continue to change,” Eric said. “Property continues to be tough; however, we have the ability to keep up with the challenges.” He cited market access and personalized service as differentiators for the Hull & Co-Texas team. “The right markets put us ahead of competitors,” Eric said. “Your account is my account. Let’s win together!” Being part of Bridge Specialty Group (BSG) supercharges our ability to offer solutions. Regional BSG teammates are resources who help create a network of coverage—multiplying the ability to find the best coverage for every agent, every time. Eric said his goal is to help agents write risks within their appetites—while offering opportunities for growth in markets they might not normally pursue. Outside of the office, Eric enjoys spending time with wife Susan and their family, swimming in their pool, and traveling with his Grandson. Rummikub is a favorite family activity, and Susan is a ringer! “My wife is an expert at that game,” Eric said. “She can change the entire board just to play one tile.” Eric grew up in Golden, Colorado and is quick to say that yes, he worked for Coors Brewing and had a beer card—which meant eight free cases a month. We like to ask our teammates about their first concerts because music is such a big part of our stories, right? To tell you about Eric's first concert, we’d have to shout it, shout it, shout it out loud. “My first concert was Kiss,” Eric said. “I told my mom it was a Baptist rock group.” Please help us acknowledge the contributions and wins of a true Hull & Co-Texas rock star!
