Technology must serve humanity, not the other way around. But how can it, if our education systems fail to teach ethical reasoning and foundational skills? The ability to think critically, consider ethical dilemmas, and make informed decisions sets humans apart. As we reflect on this Education Week, let’s commit to embedding these lessons into every curriculum. The future depends on it.

I am excited to share that my article "Let's Talk about Digitalization and the Global Education Agenda" has been published in the 2024 Knowledge Forum series, a publication of Queen’s Faculty of Education. This year's issue focuses on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In my article, I explore how technology shapes global education and the impact it has on us as humans, regardless of whether we embrace it or not. I discuss the ethical and epistemic implications of integrating technology into modern educational practices https://lnkd.in/gkGhWTUf

Shifting life from tech startups to academia is surprisingly super fun (and challenging). I want to share one of my papers about what's wrong with our current educational system and how we can build a new framework, an education that resonates. This paper is submitted for my philosophy course where I married bell hooks' concept of critical consciousness with Nietzsche's emphasis on self-authenticity and Dewey's call for collective growth. Check my paper below and any suggestions are welcome! I would like to include indigenous knowledge and aesthetic experience for my next "version" of the framework 😁 https://lnkd.in/g8B74uFx

How are you positioning your library on campus? What message do you communicate through your conversations and configurations?
How much does the discovery layer influence faculty/student perceptions of the library? "It does not showcase the library as a technological leader or innovator; quite the reverse in fact, as the library discovery experience feels like it is from an earlier period." https://lnkd.in/g73BA_5t

Does education need Wallfacers? Inspired by "The Three-Body Problem," let's discuss the Wallfacer concept applied to education innovation. Imagine an individual empowered to make swift, unconventional changes. Pros: speed, bold experimentation. Cons: lack of transparency, ethical concerns. If you held this power, what's ONE radical change you'd implement? #Innovationandeducation #AIinEducation

Such an important theme. So much going on in the education space right now with AI stimulating a range of discussions at many levels. Looking forward to seeing how the new IB workshop on AI deals with these. Also essential we remember that AI will also be increasing the divide, as there still exists schools and young people without digital access.
