While working on my 💬 presentation for the Webinale on Thursday, I stumbled across this video. It clearly shows the dangers lurking in AI, especially for women. While 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐤𝐞 🤡 with deepfakes, women are 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐝𝐞𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 and suffer consequences in their private and professional lives. The topic of interest is the analysis of exposure of individuals to generative AI systems based on their gender.

Generative AI incorporates racial, gender and ethnic biases, and excludes certain groups of people, including immigrants of color, and others. AI is also used not only in hiring and other decisions by private employers, but also in government decision-making in many areas, law enforcement, judicial decisions, medical care, etc. And decisions on whether you get a mortgage or a loan. Dr. Joy Buolamwini explains how groups of people, the ex-coded, are excluded due to algorithmic systems, not only minorities.
