Experienced AMPP coating inspector. Ensuring Quality and Compliance Every Step of the Way. committed to Excellence in Surface Protection and Maintenance
What is the presence of a coatings inspector onsite like⁉️❓ The presence of a coatings inspector onsite can be both crucial and sometimes challenging😰😰. Coatings inspectors play a vital role in ensuring that proper coating application procedures are followed to meet industry standards and specifications. They are responsible for inspecting various industrial items to ensure they have been coated correctly and meet the required quality standards. In the scenario described, the coatings inspector faced several challenges and interactions with the workers on-site. From checking cleanliness after blasting to conducting salt tests and monitoring painting processes, the inspector had to ensure that all steps were carried out according to the quality plan. The inspector also encountered resistance from some employees who may not have fully understood the importance of following proper procedures. Overall, the presence of a coatings inspector onsite is essential for maintaining quality control, adherence to standards, and ensuring that the coated items meet the necessary requirements before delivery. #AMPP #SSPC #NACE #ASSETINTERGRITY #APAVE #COFIPSolutions

There is a big drive to make sure inspectors do a good job but if a QC does their work well then the Inspector has it easier ... I think. Here is my view on what a good QC should do or at least consider in most cases.

Have you ever wondered how these things happen with all the advanced engineering, required permits, planning, implementation, quality control/assurance, safety regulations, inspections and more? Well, in short something in the forementioned process(es) failed. I'll address one part of these and that is "inspections." Recently I informed a perspective client that since they did not have any Weld Procedures we could not inspect his project to any Code. His response was, "its taken care of." Not saying this is what happened in Boise, but too many times we see parts of the above processes ignored to save money or increase profit, which is gambling and could lead to a catastrophic event as below. On the welding inspection end, four components I believe you should ALWAYS start with and have a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) review and approve before your project is awarded to a subcontrator: (1) Welding Procedure(s) (2) Welder Qualification(s) (3) Continuity Records and (4) Material. If you want to ensure your structural project is safe for personnel and property and you welcome objectivity, if necessary, to maintain a high degree of safety standards, contact MAC Inspection & Welding Agency at 410.676.9962. #structuralsteel #structural #steelfabrication #steelconstruction #construction #safety #welding #qualitycontrol #qualityassurance #engineering #weldingprocedures #weldingqualifications #bridges #contractingofficers #structuralfabricators

When it comes to industrial coating projects, having a third party coating inspector is crucial! Here's why: 1️⃣ Unbiased Evaluation: A third party inspector provides an objective assessment of the coating application, ensuring that it meets industry standards and specifications. This helps prevent any conflicts of interest that may arise when relying solely on the contractor's inspection. 2️⃣ Quality Assurance: By conducting regular inspections, a third party inspector ensures that the coating process follows best practices, leading to a high-quality and durable finish. They can identify potential issues early on, allowing for timely corrections and minimizing costly rework. 3️⃣ Compliance and Safety: Compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols is paramount in industrial coating projects. A third party inspector verifies that the coatings used meet regulatory requirements, reducing the risk of non-compliance and potential hazards. 4️⃣ Cost Savings: Investing in a third party inspector may seem like an additional expense, but it can save significant costs in the long run. By ensuring proper coating application and minimizing the need for rework, it helps avoid costly delays and repairs. 5️⃣ Client Confidence: Hiring a third party coating inspector provides clients with peace of mind. It demonstrates a commitment to quality, professionalism, and adherence to industry standards, enhancing the reputation of the project and the involved parties. #ampp #CoatingInspector #IndustrialCoating #QualityAssurance"

As a dedicated coating inspector, I understand the paramount importance of adhering to project specifications and maintaining the highest standards of quality in every inspection endeavor. Here are some ethical guidelines I advocate for to ensure unwavering commitment to excellence: Adherence to Project Specifications: . It is imperative to strictly adhere to project specifications and industry standards during inspections. Any deviation from these guidelines can compromise the integrity of the project and result in subpar outcomes. Consistency in Inspection Procedures: Consistency in inspection procedures is crucial for ensuring reliable and accurate assessments of coating applications. By following standardized inspection protocols, we uphold the reliability and credibility of our evaluations. Integrity in Reporting: Honesty and integrity must underpin all inspection reports. Falsifying data or omitting crucial information to appease clients undermines the integrity of the inspection process and jeopardizes the project's success in the long run. Professional Autonomy: Coating inspectors must maintain professional autonomy and resist external pressures to compromise on quality standards. Our primary allegiance is to the project and its specifications, not to securing additional work at the expense of quality. Continuous Professional Development: Staying updated on industry advancements and undergoing continuous professional development is essential for enhancing inspection expertise and ensuring proficiency in the latest techniques and technologies. Commitment to Quality Assurance: As stewards of quality assurance, we are entrusted with safeguarding the integrity and longevity of coated structures. Our commitment to quality must be unwavering, even in the face of challenges or client preferences. Effective Communication: Clear and transparent communication with clients and project stakeholders is vital for aligning expectations, addressing concerns, and upholding the quality standards integral to project success. By upholding these ethical guidelines, coating inspectors can foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability within the industry, ensuring that every project meets or exceeds the highest standards of quality and performance.

Good morning Who is the Welding Inspector? Before turning our discussion to the technical subjects, let us talk about the welding inspector as an individual and the typical responsibilities that accompany the posi-tion. The welding inspector is a responsible person, involved in the determination of weld quality according to applicable codes and/or specifications. In the performance of inspection tasks, welding inspectors operate in many different circumstances, depending primarily for whom they are working. Thus, there is a special need for job specifications due to the complexity of some components and structures.

Project ownership and Cost Control. So many misconceptions and biases within the QA/QC space which sparks questions like; ‘Why have a QC onboard a fresh project perhaps a weld fabrication yard as against seamlessly educating your welders on best weld practices and controls?’ Ps; identifying weld defects with no solutions in view to curb further errors to the barest minimum is simply “mismanagement” As an experienced #QC #inspector cum #engineeringmanager and a professional member of the ASEM - American Society for Engineering Management the goal is to keep any business running #sustainably (ALARP) regardless of the #project span either on a short project visit or otherwise by sensitizing colleagues I.e ‘welders in this scenario’ to build trust, minimize issues ⚠️ that might arise with pre-qualifying weld joints and entire weld inspections either on the ground or at height IRATA International
