Son of Indian immigrant parents, Geetesh Goyal had to deal with bullying at a young age while also seeing his parents work hard to create future. So, you know, I think I was one of maybe four or five Indians at a in a town of, you know, maybe 30,000 people. And so it wasn't that very, very many of us. So we were not known. So growing up, I was always different. But in a lot of ways, I look back and it was almost an advantage of sorts because it kind of forced me being put in a tough spot to have to kind of fight my way through the rings. You know, we struggled, didn't have much money. You know, I had a family like my dad again, he was a PhD student. At Davis, so preach the value of education. But even though Geetesh went to UC Davis to pursue a career in dentistry, he quickly realized that it wasn't the right fit. Remembering his grandfather's entrepreneurial spirit always enticed him to take the road less traveled by. He started with nothing and, you know, built his business up. He did textiles and he would export them kind of all around the world from Italy. That was that was international scale wealth, right? I mean, I've just have such fond memories of him kind of early on, you know, it's almost like you. It takes one to know one. You're the old saying, right? So, like, it's kind of neat because I look back and it makes a lot more sense to me now. But a lot of these things that. That he saw in me now I would see in the same kid myself. Soon after, Geetesh decided to work in biotech recruiting, which instantly drew him into that industry. He shared his ideas with a college friend, Ranil Piyaratna Piyaratna, who also grew up around entrepreneurs. My grandmother was a pioneer for our family. She came here in the early 70s to teach Montessori school. She was able to to get by and get eventually get a visa for herself and a green card and all that and then brought the rest of the family over. I was actually born in San Jose, CA and lived here until I was about 3 and by the time I was three we moved to back to Sri Lanka. My dad had a business. Going on there. And he went to pursue that. So he was he was an entrepreneur. The war hit over, there was a civil war, and so the country was in a bit of turmoil. By the time I was nine, we were getting bombed, threats to the schools and things were shut down for months. So my parents decided to come back here. My dad left his business behind. He wore multiple hats to figure things out and even brought me into some some of that and got me in to my entrepreneurship early. And even though Renell originally went to UC Davis for medicine, he went. On to get his MBA degree and write a business plan for a staffing agency. Him and Geetesh were then able to work through their ideas for a company you test actually bought his first house and we decided to live together. This was just the perfect scenario. We were just kind of constantly just talking ideas all the time. And so then that's what him and I we started really having those dialogues on a nightly basis. I'd come home and I'd kind of teach him and we talked for hours on end and it's really interesting how that step of. Him deciding to me convincing him to move in was everything. He focused on the sales and recruiting and and I did all the back office, all this you know website marketing. So at first they created Neozene which focused on biotech and pharmaceutical staffing and consulting by hiring some of their family members and utilizing all the help they could get. They eventually grew but faced some obstacles along the way. The kind of consulting that is in the biotech industry, it's very project centric these projects. And fall off a Cliff, you got a six month project. The FDA is breathing down your neck and you need some support to get through that period. Well after that they may never need you again for three years. So you have to have this heavy pipeline going of new projects. So we switched into contract recruiting. You basically float the payroll and pay the pay the employee as your W2 employee, they're under your books and you pay them for the month of client essentially pays you a month later. They realized they needed to expand to different businesses rather than. Just focusing on biotech and pharmaceutical companies. So with this human beings was born. So we connect people with companies, right? That's in layman's terms. We like to find the talent for the companies that need the talent. We place anyone from a janitor to a CEO. So anywhere in between we were able to place those employees. We've had some success in high volume staffing some of the needs from manufacturing production facilities. And all these different areas of business we didn't consider at first. So if the company needs resourcing of employees, right, either contract or long term, then we will come in and we will tailor, make and customize a solution for you. We will you know pound the phones through 10-15, different Internet resources that we have, various postings, job fairs, you know we will kind of select exact talent. Will be out in the community networking. Today Human Bees employs over 3000 people across all of their clients and was named the fastest growing company in America by Inc 5000 Magazine. Now getting getting the top spot on the Inc 5000 was a dream but to do this in this industry and show that it's it's possible you know the hard work and dedication really can pay off. You want to win at life. You want to win a business. You want to win period. Just do to others. That you would have done to you.
