Saving Dogs: A Commitment to Compassion In a world where animals often face neglect and mistreatment, the plight of dogs stands out as a poignant reminder of our responsibility towards sentient beings. Every year, countless dogs are abandoned, left to fend for themselves in harsh conditions or euthanized due to overcrowded shelters. However, amidst these challenges, there is hope. Rescue organizations and dedicated individuals around the globe are working tirelessly to save these furry companions. Their efforts range from rescuing dogs from abusive situations to providing medical care, rehabilitation, and ultimately finding loving forever homes. One such organization, [Organization Name], exemplifies the spirit of compassion and dedication. Founded [years ago], they have successfully rescued and rehomed thousands of dogs, offering them a second chance at life. Through adoption drives, fostering programs, and educational outreach, they raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and the importance of adoption. The journey of a rescued dog is often one of resilience and transformation. From the moment they are saved from neglect or abuse, to the day they wag their tails in a new home, each step is a testament to the power of compassion and community support. However, the work is far from over. The demand for rescue services continues to grow as more dogs are in need of assistance. It is incumbent upon all of us to support these efforts however we can—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness. Ultimately, saving dogs is not just about providing shelter and sustenance; it is about restoring dignity and hope to creatures who ask for nothing more than love and care. Together, we can make a difference in their lives and ensure that every dog has the chance to experience the warmth of a loving home. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

The PEDIGREE Foundation funds nonprofit shelters and rescues in the United States with programs that support dog adoption. Program Development Grants of $10,000 to $15,000 are provided in the following categories: foster programs that move dogs temporarily into loving homes while they await adoption; behavior programs that help with socialization, training, and stress relief so dogs can move beyond behaviors that might hinder their adoption; and transport programs that move dogs from areas of overpopulation to areas where they’re more likely to be adopted. In addition, one DOGS RULE.™ Grant of $50,000 a year for two years will support an innovative best practice initiative that focuses on increasing dog adoptions rates. (Disaster Relief Grants for natural disasters, puppy mill seizures, or hoarding situations are available throughout the year through a separate application process.) Call 516.410.4895, or email clolataylor@gmail.com for a free fee quote to have us write your entire proposal, or edit your draft, for a reasonable flat fee. https://lnkd.in/eNW9gJ-M Bev Browning Holly Rustick

When it comes to pets relinquished due to housing, we often think of large, blocky-headed dogs as being the primary category of pet that needs our advocacy. However, intake data from HASS Pilot Shelters suggests that small dogs are almost as likely to be relinquished due to housing reasons as large dogs! In our dataset, which was collected from 21 shelters between 2019-2021, we saw population peaks at 11 lbs and 55 lbs and although large dogs make up the greatest percentage of dog intakes at 20% of total dog intake, small dogs were right on their tail at 19% of total dog intake. This suggests that our policy advocacy must be broader than traditional breed, weight, and size restrictions which won't improve housing situations for our smaller furry friends. Adding issues like arbitrary number restrictions, prohibiting or mitigating the use of nonrefundable up-front fees and monthly pet rents, and tenant eviction protections to your organization's policy agenda will be key to creating pet-inclusive housing that is accessible for all people and their pets. Pet inclusive housing is one of the top issues leading to pet homelessness and animals entering the shelter. There is a whole other side to the coin about housing prices and human affordability which leads to wealth insecurity for you pet care, but let’s put that to the side for right now. Everyone who owns a pet, no matter what size, will have to face the question of if they can afford them. Love shouldn’t be about affordability. Monthly fees, deposits, upfront money to move is already difficult to save without adding additional thousands. The added difficulty for intake diversion is how do you best divert those animals? No amount of pet food pantry will help. Maybe if there is a vaccine or spay/neuter requirement it may help, but honestly I havent seen much of that. We can do our best with home to home encouraging but often people are rushed from homes without much time to prepare due to rent raises or not realizing how the costs of moving and animals have changed. Supplies for family to hold? I live in a city with my closest family being 10 hours from me, and I know I’m not alone in that. How do we begin to participate in a dialogue with housing to see how we can keep those pets in homes? Waiving fees? Or just showing the data showing they’ll get better renters and rent ability with animals? I don’t know if we have the answer yet, but I know we will need one soon.

🌟 Our Journey to Hope: The Birth of Animal Kingdom Inc. 🌟 In 2021, amid the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, our family faced a crisis that tested our resilience. Homelessness forced us into an apartment that didn’t accept pets, and our beloved pitbull, unfairly labeled as aggressive due to her breed, had nowhere to go. The few extended boarding options available came with exorbitant costs of over $500, a sum we simply couldn’t afford given our circumstances. Heartbroken and out of options, we had to surrender her to an animal shelter. This painful experience ignited a mission in us: to create a sanctuary where families in crisis wouldn’t have to choose between their wellbeing and their beloved pets. Animal Kingdom was born from this vision. At Animal Kingdom Inc., we offer: 🏡 Free boarding for families facing temporary hardships, ensuring pets are cared for with love and dignity. 🐾 Acceptance of all domestic animals, from dogs and cats to birds and iguanas. 🤝 Commitment to keeping pets with their families for as long as needed, completely free of charge. 💖 Facilitation of adoptions to find loving, permanent homes when reunification isn’t possible. We wish Animal Kingdom had been there for us when we needed it most. Now, we are here for others, turning our difficult experience into a source of hope and support for families in crisis. Join us in our mission to keep families and their pets together. Follow our journey and support Animal Kingdom Inc. as we make a difference, one paw at a time. #AnimalKingdomInc #Nonprofit #PetSanctuary #FamilyFirst #CommunitySupport #AnimalWelfare #COVID19 #Homelessness #HopeAndSupport
