Iteration relates to making incremental improvements to existing processes. It’s a linear process. Innovation is about creating new things that generate value. It can yield exponential returns. Disruption is what pushes the linear growth line up to the exponential one. It makes old processes obsolete by introducing groundbreaking new solutions.   These were some of the points that Brian Solis made during his keynote address at Finovate Spring in San Francisco on Tuesday. He went on to talk about how Generative AI can be harnessed to help drive that innovative growth, and how crucial that is to the long-term success of companies in any industry. Impeccable timing on China announcing its 'Big Fund III' funding towards AI! Only yesterday I released an article on the ongoing US-China AI war. You can read the article here: https://lnkd.in/g8rtibuH I mentioned that China may be losing this war against the US given the US is blocking all China's access to US' advanced Semiconductor technology. But yesterday China has reacted to the restrictions (recently revised in March 2024) with a new funding announcement of $47.5 Bn. This is almost double the funding of the last round 'Big Fund II' in 2019. This also comes from the recent development that the US not only prohibits China's access to its technology but also encourages its allies like Germany, Japan and South Korea to do so. SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) of China rose 8% yesterday reacting to the news. Looks like China is giving a tough competition to the US? Thoughts?
