Focus on logistics newsletter-DHL International Express 767 fleet will increase to 14 DHL is developing its Boeing 767 cargo aircraft business through a new lease agreement with Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) under which ATSG's Cargo Management Company (CAM) has leased one 767-300 cargo aircraft to DHL to operate within DHL's global network. The agreement will increase CAM's fleet of 767 aircraft leased at DHL to 14. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has launched a "Global Control Center" (GCC) system to help shorten the modification time of cargo aircraft. With around 80% of #aircargo carried on passenger aircraft, it’s important that all air cargo is robustly screened to ensure prohibited articles are not part of the flown cargo. Compliance with the strict guidelines is a requirement of the “Known Consignor’ status and includes background checking of staff ✈️. AMCO have invested in the security of its #supplychain and are regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in all aspects of handling and packaging of #cargo to be exported by air ✔️. AMCO, as Known Consignors, are permitted to ship cargo directly from our approved facility into the airlines without the need for any further security measures being applied, reducing potential delays and the cost of airline security fees 🚛. Our AMCO approved ‘Known Consignor’ team supports you with any future Air Freight exports, which also includes packaging solutions to CAA requirements 📦. AMCO can help minimise delays at the Airport and reduce the airline security charges you might not even realise you are paying! Accountant, Airlines , Schools ...etc “Make the dream devour your life so that life does not devour your dream.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Both Aircraft Manufacturers Embraer and Comac are relishing the possibility of taking a little business from the commercial airline duopolists of Boeing and Airbus. The move on the South-South aerospace industry cooperation: Brazilian airline TOTAL Linhas Aéreas is in advanced negotiations to acquire aircraft from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) to expand into the passenger market. This move aligns with the growing commercial ties between Brazil and China, highlighted by the upcoming visit of the Chinese Premier to Brazil in November to promote the "Air Silk Road" In October, TOTAL executives will travel to China to evaluate the ARJ21, a regional jet seating 78 and 97 passengers, and the larger C919, which competes directly with the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX. While the C919 is not yet certified outside of Asia, COMAC aims to secure European certification (EASA) by 2025, opening the door for international sales, but this would probably be a much longer process. COMAC offers a key advantage in delivering the first C919 units to TOTAL by March 2025, faster than Airbus, Boeing, or Embraer (In fact, Embraer hasn't got any certification to built aircraft of more than 150 seats by Europe or the US). China’s Development Bank (CDB) is offering TOTAL Linhas Aéreas to finance up to 80% of the purchase, with payment terms spread over 10 to 12 years, significantly supporting the deal. The Chinese Premier’s upcoming visit to Brazil in November highlights the broader political context behind this potential acquisition. Strengthening aerospace ties between the two nations is expected to be a key part of the bilateral discussions, potentially accelerating the deal between TOTAL and COMAC (i.e. for COMAC to get a fastrack certification in Brazil). The political implications of TOTAL’s deal are remarkable: China is interested in disembarking in developing markets worldwide with its commercial planes to contest the Airbus-Boeing duopoly, taking advantage of current supply chain and quality constraints, which will impact delivery and production rates. The question of how Brazil and China would advance on a support structure for the airframes and how profitable the creation of that structure would be, considering that the only yet-to-be-signed order would comprise four planes, is still on the table. As part of its expansion, TOTAL plans to establish its operations hub in Brasília and has reserved two ATR 72 aircraft to expand its fleet further. If the deal is finalized, TOTAL will become one of the first international operators of the COMAC C919, marking a significant milestone for the Chinese aircraft manufacturer in its bid to break into Western markets allowing Russia's VSMPO-AVISMA to redirect its sales into the BRICS countries.

Russian airlines are increasingly opting to repair Western engines rather than replacing them, according to industry sources. This shift in approach is seen as a cost-effective solution for airlines facing budget constraints. By repairing engines instead of purchasing new ones, airlines can save significant amounts of money while still ensuring the reliability and safety of their aircraft. This trend is also driven by the availability of skilled technicians and advanced repair facilities in Russia, making it a viable option for airlines looking to extend the lifespan of their engines.
