*scheduled post (on PTO) #mondaythoughts I came across an CNBC article that shared that 40% of hiring managers lie during job interviews. <article link in comment>. I agree with all the red flags mentioned to watch out for. As a candidate, I also assume a few things going into an interview, including with ŌURA: 🎯 While there will be reasons to accept a role (excitement for values, mission, product, competitive pay, people, flexible work, etc.), no company/team is perfect 🎯 All companies regardless of size have opportunities to improve and grow within the company. You have to know your non-negotiables to find a company that is right for you, for your family, or the current stage of your career journey 🎯 You are also interviewing the company and often the interviewers will be on the team you'll be coming into or ones you'll collaborate with. If you forgot to ask some questions during the interview or ran out of time, feel free to share them with the recruiter and they relay and get the answers for you 🎯 They are hiring because they need smart people to come help solve some of the wonderful challenges so yes, the actual job is more than the job description itself. My favorite question to ask is "How has your job scope evolved in the time you've been at XYZ?" 🎯 Companies look at talent and POTENTIAL and I think candidates should do the same for the opportunities they are looking at. #interviewingtips #expectationsmanagement #askquestions

Reposting: I knew everyone encountered this! Candidates have experience in the following areas Dear Applicant, We regret to inform you... We appreciate your time... Thank you for your interest... You have not been selected... We'll keep your details on file... We've already filled this position... There were a large number of candidates... We're moving forward with other applicants... We selected a candidate with more experience... We're delighted to offer you a full-time position with us. You can be rejected hundreds of times & still land a job. Rejection is part of the process. Not the end of your story. How about letting them experience the kind of work which the employer are posting for vacancy position. As far as I'm concern, these applicants will not submit the Resume if they are not qualified or not capable to do the certain task. Just sayin'. #HRDepartment #Multitaskingemployee #Jobopportunity

#recruitmentjokes at your service 😎 That moment when the Recruiter arrives at work without eating breakfast, on 4 hours of sleep, dehydrated thinking that coffee will solve all their problems. #WeWishItDid __ Every Recruiter 10 minutes after they have promised themselves that they will not lose it today: "What the F*(&% is this M*&%() F*=)/$ thinking he is doing? B*?)&%, no way!" #ThereYouGo __ That moment when a candidate replies to your message: "Thank you for the good offer, however, I will change jobs only if I can achieve 40-50% more than my current salary." #Okay __ Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend! 😇 #tgif #friday #recruitment #recruiterlife #hiring #smartistone

Did you know you’re expected to ask questions at the end of a job interview? It’s a great way to make yourself stand out and instantly appear more hirable. ⚠️ But beware, don’t be blunt with your questions—be tactful! For example, don’t just ask: Instead of: ❌ “So, how much is the pay?” Try: ✅ “I didn’t see a salary range listed in the job description; can you share the compensation details for this role?” Instead of: ❌ “So how many vacation days do I get.” Try: ✅ “At my current company we have an accrual PTO policy, does this company use a similar PTO plan?” Got a good one? Drop your favorite question to ask at the end of an interview in the comments section! 👇 #jobinterview #careeradvice #work #job #corporate

Another bump in the road on the path to a renewed future 2 interviews this week One did not fit my personal/financial requirements and I declined the offer after careful consideration. The other was a CSR position that would have put me back to where I was when I was laid off the end of October 2023. Just received notification they have moved on to a candidate with insurance experience. I have nothing negative to say about the company, the recruiter, or those I interviewed with yesterday. They were each very friendly, wonderful to speak to, informative, and even accommodating when I needed to reschedule my interview yesterday due to my husband's medical procedure running behind. I have the utmost respect for them. But, back to Square 1. What am I looking for? - Remote/Work from Home - Fair wages (to be transparent, $20/hr is my goal) - Work/Life Balance - A new experience, possibly challenges - Weekend wrap schedule (yes, I prefer to work weekends) or 2nd shift option to allow mornings for personal appointments I want to learn new things, while bringing my experience to the table. Any leads, recommendations, connections would be greatly appreciated. #jobseeker #CSR #newbeginnings #hireme

💼 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐯𝐬. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐮𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐚𝐫 💸 Recruiter: We’re looking for someone with 10 years of experience, 5 PhDs, and the ability to communicate with plants. Candidate: Sounds great! What’s the salary? Recruiter: The real reward is the exposure you’ll get. Me: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 😂 Ah, the classic dance of recruitment and salary expectations! Anyone else ever feel like job descriptions ask for the moon, but the salary is barely enough for a ladder to reach it? 🌝 Don’t get me wrong, I love a good challenge and new opportunities—but hey, let’s keep things grounded. After all, we’ve all got bills to pay! #JobHunting #RecruitmentRealities #ShowMeTheMoney #SalaryVsDreamJob #HiringHumor
