Employee benefit brokers play a CRUCIAL role in helping employers navigate insurance options. Curating an employee benefit package that will (1) attract and retain talent (2) balance quality with affordability (3) Offering enough variety and choice to meet the needs of a diverse workforce...but not sink employees into decision paralysis... is HARD under the best of circumstances. Q4 only makes it harder. This is is where a general agent can help. A general agency doesn't replace a broker. A good general agency supplies expertise and solutions to help brokers meet their clients' needs. A good general agency is also back office SUPPORT to take some of the time consuming LABOR off the backs of broker benefits teams (account managers, benefit analysts, etc.). RFPs take time. Reviewing proposals takes time. Spreadsheets take time. Building plans in EASE and Employee Navigator takes time. Working on enrollment censuses takes time.
