Giving the weekend that’s in it with the big Sydney Marathon on Sunday I thought I’d put together 3 of the most basic tips that should help anyone who are experiencing there first marathon. 🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️ It’s been 3 years since my first and it’s safe to safe I didn’t do any of the below correctly! 🤦🏽 1. CARB LOAD 🥖 🍝 - The day before the race you’ll start to increase carbohydrate intake in order to fuel your body for the workload ahead. Now most people mistake this for a calorie eating challenge. My biggest tip is to keep it simple, reduce fat + protein and focus on carbs. (Small example: if you normally eat 2 eggs and 2 toast for breakfast, I’d skip the eggs and double up on portions of toast) 2. IN RACE FUELING ⚡️⚡️ - Please if you leave it until your struggling before you start to take on any fuel / gels in the race well then ultimately you’ve probably left it to late. Ideally you want to be taking on some source of fuel every 30-45 mins. 3. PRE RACE 👟 - Prep your gear the day before, plan your route and get to the start with plenty of time. I’d suggest atleast 30 minutes before you start. You want to make sure to get in a good warm up and may have to nip to the toilet one more time! Best of luck!! ⭐️

Nourishment and hydration are crucial elements for peak performance on the golf course. Here's why: * Sustained Energy Levels: Golf is a physically and mentally demanding sport, requiring concentration and focus for several hours. Proper nourishment ensures that golfers maintain steady energy levels throughout their round, preventing fatigue and lapses in focus that can affect performance. * Muscle Function: Golf involves repetitive swinging motions, which can lead to muscle fatigue and cramping if not properly fueled. Consuming nutritious foods and staying hydrated supports muscle function, reducing the risk of injury and helping golfers maintain their swing mechanics. * Mental Acuity: Dehydration and hunger can impair cognitive function, affecting decision-making, judgment, and concentration—essential aspects of successful golfing. Staying hydrated and well-nourished supports mental acuity, enabling golfers to make better strategic choices and execute shots with precision. * Temperature Regulation: Golf is often played outdoors, exposing players to varying weather conditions. Proper hydration helps regulate body temperature, preventing overheating or dehydration-related issues, especially in hot and humid environments. * Endurance: A round of golf can last several hours, particularly if the course is challenging or crowded. Adequate nourishment and hydration support physical endurance, allowing golfers to maintain their performance levels from the first hole to the last. * Recovery: After a round of golf, proper nutrition and hydration aid in the body's recovery process. Replenishing fluids and nutrients lost during exertion helps muscles recover faster, reducing soreness and preparing golfers for subsequent rounds or practice sessions. In conclusion, prioritizing nourishment and hydration while on the golf course is essential for sustaining performance, preventing injury, and optimizing overall enjoyment of the game. Golfers should strive to consume a balanced diet and stay adequately hydrated before, during, and after their rounds to maximize their potential on the course. #golf #pga #scpga #lpga #usga #hydration #drinkwater #gatorade #thxpgapro #welovethisgame #ricmooregolf

Have you ever screamed in pure elation after sinking a long putt, only to throw your club in disgust moments later after shanking your next shot into the woods? Welcome to the wonderful world of golf, where tranquility and stress coexist. This duality is what makes golf so fascinating. On one hand, it offers a unique blend of physical and mental challenges. The rhythmic swing, the quiet walks between holes, the fresh air – it's all incredibly calming. A missed putt, a shanked shot, a lost ball – they can test your patience like nothing else. One day you're a golfing god, the next you're hacking your way through the course like a drunken lumberjack. Golf forces you to confront your emotions, to practice patience and resilience. It's a mental workout as much as a physical one. Learning to manage your emotions on the course translates to other areas of life and business. It teaches you to embrace the ups and downs, to find humor in the inevitable mistakes. It's a journey of self-discovery, a chance to understand your own strengths and weaknesses, both mental and physical. So, is golf relaxing or stressful? It depends. But one thing's for sure – it's never boring. Do you have any golf-induced zen moments in Golf? #GolfLife #DualityonCourse #LoveHateRelationship

Happy Friday, everyone! I love😍 this insightful video by Kim Emerson where he uses golf balls, pebbles, and sand to illustrate the importance of prioritization. It’s a powerful reminder of how focusing on what truly matters can help us get the most out of life. Here’s the key takeaway: 1️⃣ Golf Balls: These represent our most important things—family, health, and passions. If we don’t prioritize them, we’ll struggle to fit them in later. 2️⃣ Pebbles: These stand for the important, but less critical tasks—work, house maintenance, etc. They need attention but shouldn't overshadow our golf balls. 3️⃣ Sand: This symbolizes the small stuff—emails, social media, and minor tasks. If we fill our jar with sand first, there’s no room for the golf balls or pebbles. I think it’s a great analogy to reflect 🤔on as we wrap up the week. If you ask me, I’d say focus on your golf balls and make sure you’re prioritizing what truly matters. In the meantime, watch the video and share your thoughts. And don't forget to enjoy your weekend - what are your plans? #CoachBSO #LifeLessons #FocusOnWhatMatters #TGIF #KimEmerson

Is your Jar #Full? In a simple yet profound demonstration, the speaker compares life to a jar, carefully filling it with golf balls, pebbles, and sand. Through this, he explains that the golf balls represent the most important aspects of life #family, #friends, #health, and passions. The pebbles stand for other meaningful things like your job, car, and home, while the sand represents the small, trivial things. The lesson ❓ If you focus too much on the small stuff, you’ll crowd out what truly matters. #Prioritize the golf balls—because the rest is just sand. #AtharJ #hospitality #trendingpost #trendingnow #trends2024 #motivation

Here are some tips for weekend golfers: Improve accuracy Keep your wrist flexed at impact, follow through with your club head before your feet, and point your knee at the ball. You can also try practicing low-trajectory shots and using speed to control trajectory. Be efficient on the putting green Mark and clean your ball when you arrive, and line up your putt while others are putting. For longer putts, try to balance the contribution of your lead and trail hands to create a more rhythmic stroke. Avoid injury Warm up before you start swinging, stretching out your legs and lower back. You can also try reducing arm tension to about 5/10 and maintaining that relaxed state throughout your swing. Stay hydrated Drink enough fluids to avoid dehydration, which can lead to heat exhaustion and affect your performance. Eat well A healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can help fuel your body and reduce pressure on your joints. Practice Beginner golfers can see big improvements by practicing or playing twice a week. You can also try visiting the driving range often and creating a pre-shot routine.

GOLF FOR MORE BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE 🧘♀️🧠🌿 Golf is a game that requires focus, patience, and strategic thinking. Playing golf can help you develop mental discipline, concentration, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. These skills can then be applied to other areas of your life, helping you maintain a sense of balance and composure in challenging situations. Think about how often you are fully focused and dedicated to one thing that you are doing. It’s nearly impossible these days, yet it’s becoming more and more appreciated as a skill. Golf teaches you to be present and concentrated. Try hitting a good shot while thinking about what you will cook for dinner or stressing about something that happened during the day. It’s impossible! Anyone who plays golf knows what I’m talking about… Golf can be a stress reliever and a way to unwind from the demands of daily life. Spending time outdoors, getting exercise, and engaging in a leisurely activity can help reduce stress and promote emotional well-being.
