The R&D team at Husqvarna, world leader in robotic lawn mowing, have implemented a rather unique feature, turning 150,000 robotic lawn mowers into cheering football fans. So every time your favorite national team scores, your robot will perform a victory dance based on some of the most famous dances in football history, all in real time. But how does it all work? In order to get the robots to dance, we need to listen to APIs in the cloud and transfer that data down to the robot and using the app as a selection device. Or to get 150,000 robots to dance whenever there's a football goal from your favorite team is really actually a huge challenge. So we need to find fast enough APIs and we need to be scalable enough in our backends and reduce the latency between the back end connection and robots. So luckily this is the kind of things we love doing. And you're celebrating. Yeah. Yeah. It's really. There were a lot of famous victory dances to choose from. And we narrow it down to three famous victory dances, which we think were expressive enough for the robots to replicate. We have been in contact with the world leading expert in robotic emotional expressions and in short, if correlates with how we perceive physicality in minimalistic emotions. Like small movements need to be faster and larger movements need to be slower. It's like replicating animalistic behavior, a type of communication we humans are really good at decoding. In this project, we had the opportunity to explore the social behavior of the more, and our mowers already have so much personality that our consumers are interacting with them, talking with them, and giving them names. And here we could combine the love of football that so many of our consumers have and the social behavior of the mower when it was interacting and dancing. And this is something we see as a big part of our future, the social behavior of our robotic mowers. So these type of projects are really important to us because they push the boundaries and we learned so much about the system. It's really tight integration between the app development back end and robotics development, which is what we really love to do. This is also where we're going forwards, interacting with the consumers and creating values with integrated technology development. Now, robotic lawn mowers will celebrate every goal you'll favorite national team scores, all in real time.
