On October 1, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. 😉 🎈 🎉 🎉 This year is another important year for comprehensively deepening reform, a key year for achieving the goals and tasks of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the National People's Congress and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. These time nodes together give rich significance to 2024. Looking back at this historical node, there have been so many long and difficult journeys, and the great leap of New China from standing up, getting rich, to becoming strong has proved the feasibility and superiority of the Chinese-style modernization path with eloquent facts.

Today, we gather to celebrate a remarkable milestone—the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over these past decades, China has grown into a nation of incredible strength, resilience, and unity. We have witnessed remarkable transformations that have shaped China into a global leader in technology, economy, and culture. This journey has been paved by the unwavering dedication and hard work of the Chinese people. From the foundation laid by our ancestors to the forward-thinking innovations of today, every step has contributed to the nation's prosperity and global influence. China has embraced progress while preserving its deep-rooted traditions, creating a unique harmony between the past and the future. As we reflect on our achievements, we must also look ahead with optimism. The challenges we face today are opportunities for further growth, and together, we will continue to innovate, build, and contribute to the world with the same courage and determination that has defined our history. On this special occasion, let us honor our heritage, celebrate our progress, and commit ourselves to a future of continued development and harmony. Happy 75th anniversary to the People's Republic of China! May our nation continue to thrive and inspire for generations to come.

The National Day of the People's Republic of China is a symbol of the country, which emerged with the founding of the new China and has become particularly important. It became the symbol of an independent state, reflecting our national structure and polity. National Day is a new, national holiday form, carrying the function of reflecting the cohesion of our country and nation. At the same time, the large-scale celebration activities on the National Day are also the concrete embodiment of the government's mobilization and appeal. Showing national strength, enhancing national confidence, reflecting cohesion, and exerting appeal are the four basic characteristics of National Day celebration.

What Chinese President told Ruto. Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides should deepen the China-Kenya comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership by pursuing the goal of becoming “three types of partners”. First, the two sides should carry forward friendship and be sincere partners of mutual trust. Second, the two sides should uphold fundamental principles while breaking new ground, and be cooperative partners of mutual benefit and win-win results. Third, the two sides should strengthen confidence and be strategic partners in upholding fairness and justice. The two sides should enhance communication and coordination on international and regional issues, work together to safeguard the common interest of the Global South, and promote regional peace and stability. For me too, it is a profound message. Although it is aimed more at strengthening the institution of the "Silk Road" - rather than at a mere cultural dissemination -; it is increasingly useful to strengthen our relations with China, both as a State and as a member of the EU-NATO-OECD.All the world's States need to consider China, both as a political entity and as a commercial partner, especially in this period. |||| The New Silk Road (in Chinese commonly: 一带一路, yī dài yī lù, a ribbon a road) is a strategic initiative of the People's Republic of China for the improvement of its trade links with the countries in Eurasia.

The Vision of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind carries forward the same spirit of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. Both are rooted in traditional Chinese values such as "Be kind to your neighbor," "Seek amity through integrity," and "Promote harmony among all nations." Both attest to China's diplomatic tenets of self-confidence, self-reliance, justice, protection of the disadvantaged, and benevolence. Both demonstrate the broad vision of the Communist Party of China to contribute more to humanity. Both manifest China's firm resolve to follow the path of peaceful development. The Vision of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind is the most effective move to sustain, promote and upgrade the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in the new circumstances. The Vision captures the reality that all countries have a shared future and intertwined interests, and sets a new model of equality and coexistence for international relations. China believes that all countries, regardless of their size, strength and wealth, are equal members of the international community. They have common interests, common rights, and common responsibilities in international affairs. All countries should join hands to overcome challenges, achieve shared prosperity, build an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world of lasting peace, universal security, and shared prosperity, and realize peaceful coexistence with greater security and prosperity for mankind. China's Past and Future Vision - Professor Ken Hammond. Ken Hammond, PhD, professor of Asian History at New Mexico State University, talks about where China has been, and its vision for the future. Professor Hammond was a leader in Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) at Kent State in the '60's and '70's, is fluent in Mandarin, lived and studied in China for almost a decade, and has his PhD in History & East Asian Languages from Harvard University. His most recent book is "China’s Revolution and the Quest for a Socialist Future." This presentation was given at the Veterans For Peace National Convention on August 18, 2024.
