What's it like studying #science at a top online school? Crispin Davis has been teaching #Chemistry online for five years, first at Harrow School Online and now at Highgrove Education. Last year an impressive 75% of his students achieved A* or A grades at A level, and he's supported numerous medics, dentists and vets on to top degree programmes with an elective course preparing pupils for #UCAT exams. So what's the secret to successful online delivery? Flipped learning. By the time they come to their lessons, our students have already used self study materials to develop their basic knowledge. That means lessons can be focussed and targeted. As Crispin says, "online lessons are as interactive as possible... lessons are all about practising what they've learnt, developing the skills that they need to answer the more complicated questions in the exams." And online practicals? The advantage of doing these online is that you can zoom in on certain aspects and get better visibility of the details. 🔎 The world needs more high quality science teaching, and by offering outstanding online programmes we're making this accessible to a wider audience of students. As Crispin says, our hope is that Highgrove Online School will develop those people who are going to solve the problems of the current world. 🎯 Anyone else interested in changing education - and the world - for the better...? #flippedlearning #onlineschool #secondaryschool #stem

3 Lessons on Teaching Science to Preschoolers Science learning starts early; but how do kids learn best? Here’s what we’ve learned from a new study: ➭ Explicit Instruction wins Children learned more when teachers directly explained concepts like sinking and floating. ➭ Discovery works; if kids are ready Kids with prior knowledge learned more from exploring. Others needed guidance. ➭ Individual differences matter Factors like age, socioeconomic status, and executive function shape how kids learn. The takeaway? Use teaching methods that match each child’s needs. When we teach smarter, we teach better. PS: What’s your favourite science activity for preschoolers? Let’s share ideas!

🌟 Observation Experience as a B.Ed Student: Insights and Learning! 🌟 As a B.Ed student, I recently had the opportunity to participate in an observation session at Neo Rosery High School(Tolichowki, Hyderabad). This experience has been invaluable for me, as it provided a firsthand look at classroom dynamics, teaching techniques, and student interactions. 📚👩🏫 Here’s how observation has contributed to my journey in education: 1. Understanding Real-World Classroom Dynamics: Observing experienced teachers allowed me to see how they manage diverse student needs and maintain a productive learning environment. 2. Learning Effective Teaching Strategies: It was insightful to witness various teaching methods in action and learn how to adapt them to different subjects and student groups. 3. Student Engagement: Observation highlighted the importance of keeping students engaged, helping me understand how to encourage active participation and make learning enjoyable. 4. Classroom Management: Observing how teachers manage classrooms, handle disruptions, and maintain discipline was an eye-opener. This experience reminded me of the importance of adaptability, patience, and creativity in teaching. I'm grateful for this hands-on learning experience as I work towards becoming an effective educator. #BEd #Teaching #Education #ClassroomObservation #LearningJourney #FutureEducator

#Scaffolding is an instructional technique where a teacher provides temporary support to students to help them achieve #learninggoals. As students become more competent, the #teacher gradually removes these supports, allowing them to become independent #learners. Scaffolding bridges the gap between students' current #knowledge and their potential, promoting learning and #skilldevelopment. The scaffolding technique has various benefits. 1. Improved Academic Performance: It helps #students perform better academically by providing the necessary support to understand and master new concepts. 2. #Development of Higher-Order Thinking: Through scaffolded #instruction, students develop higher-order #thinkingskills such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. 3. Increased #Engagement: Scaffolding keeps students engaged by making learning more accessible and less frustrating. When students feel supported, they are more likely to participate actively. 4.Encourages #Independence: By gradually removing supports, scaffolding encourages them to become #independentlearners so they can face challenges on their own. #teachingmethods #ib #ibschool #ibmyp #igcse #education Ganesh KempaiahSHAJI PHILIPUDAYKUMAR MADAR (Uday)Dr. Nilam Das Ashish ChatterjeeDr. Pranav JoshiraoSandhra Dona ShajiPramod Pathak VINAY MISRA Open for PRINCIPAL post assignmentRejilkumar v m

**Building Blocks of Literacy** Learning to read is complex and phonics is just one part of code-related literacy development and becoming literate. Learning to read also involves developing strategies in all of the blocks of Literacy as well as discovering the pleasure of reading and reading for a purpose. Oral language and phonological awareness play a key role in early childhood literacy development. Phonics knowledge is finite and can be learned quickly, whereas comprehension and vocabulary knowledge continue to develop over a lifetime. This makes phonics learning easier to measure than comprehension and vocabulary development. Teaching Phonics in Early Childhood 💡 FutureLearn
