It was a pleasure to join Jessica Menton & Paul Sweeney on Bloomberg News to debate what's next for private credit & opportunities from "de-banking" The regional bank turmoil and Fed's Basel end-game proposals are both nudging banks to shed assets. For instance the Fed proposals imply a 35% increase in capital for US investment/corporate banking divisions - prior to much hoped for recalibration. And regional banks are still drawing down $120bn of BTFP, the special bank funding scheme, which is due to expire in 3 months We discussed how much the shift to private credit underscores just how much the market structure of finance is changing.
