HVAC SYSTEM – CHILLED WATER PUMP, ECCENTRIC REDUCER AT PUMP SUCTION SIDE: Normally an eccentric reducer will be used at the suction inlet to the centrifugal-type chilled water pump. QUESTIONS: 1) What is the purpose of this ECCENTRIC reducer? 2) Do we really require this ECCENTRIC reducer? Can we use a concentric reducer instead of an eccentric for installations based on the plant room location/elevation and system pressure at the pump suction side?? 3) If we select a one-sided flat ECCENTRIC reducer, which side should be flat. Is it on the top side or the bottom side? Share your thoughts and answers in the comment section.

Examples Example 1: In a chilled water system, if the water enters the chiller at 12°C and leaves at 7°C, the Delta T is 5°C (ΔT = 12°C - 7°C). Example 2: In an air handling unit, if the return air temperature is 25°C and the supply air temperature is 18°C, the Delta T is 7°C (ΔT = 25°C - 18°C). Monitoring and maintaining the correct Delta T values is essential for ensuring the efficiency, performance, and longevity of HVAC systems.

Spring is finally here, and it's time prepare your Hvac system! Palmetto Facilities Maintenance LLC is here share the top 5 maintenance tips. 1* Check/Change Your Filters. Clogged HVAC Filters Put Your Equipment Under Additional, Unnecessary Strain And Decrease The Efficiency Of Your System. 2* Clean The Condenser And Evaporator For Better Air Circulation 3* Schedule A Professional HVAC Tune-up To Ensure Optimal Performance. 4* Test The Cooling Function Homeowners Want To Avoid Inconvenient Surprises When The Temperatures Rise Later In The Spring And It’s Time To Turn On The Air Conditioning. 5* Inspect All Pipe Insulation And Condensate Lines. Any Damaged Insulation Should Be Replaced To Ensure Your System Continues Running At Optimal Efficiency. For Detailed Spring Maintenance Visit Our Website: www.palmettofacilities.com Or Call Us 864-384-9960 To Schedule Your Maintenance Service. #FacilitiesMaintenance #SpringTips #CommercialBuildingMaintenance #hvac #palmettofacilitiesmaintenance #plumbing #electrical #newinstallation #furnace #heating

I provide online pre recorded trainings for mechanical designers who want to improve themselves, preparing to take PAE or PCE exams.
Heat load calculation is the most fundamental and basic course for hvac. However, it is a very mundane task which requires repetitive hourly calculations and monthly calculations. You need to ascertain the load encountered in the space because that is going to determine your supply air condition. Then to size the AHU, you need to add the space load to other system load such as outdoor air ventilation, fan load, reheat, plenum load (if using ceiling return) etc. HAP 4.9 is a nice tool to automatically calculate the heat load. However, when building up the system and plant, it does not recognize the limitation of supply air set point in different system and sometimes does allow off coil temperature to go down to about 30deg F which is actually lower than freezing point. Care is required when analysis data from HAP. Note that ventilation air is defined as outdoor air in HAP. This course is developed to cover the concepts of heat load calculations, executing heat load calculation and building up system using HAP and also manual calculations using CLTD correction factors and solar correction factors from tables to account for sensible heat lag factor. Click to register and learn in 4 hours and 20mins recordings. For those who need a trial copy of HAP, you can always assess the carrier website. https://lnkd.in/gTUJ_DYj
